Older....Official D1-MIUI-0.12.3.2

I am having the same issue as another user, with not being able to save a picture from an MMS that was sent to me. Copy is as close as it comes, but I cannot find it anywhere on my SD card. It says "Text messages have been copied."

I'm the other user, and the only solution at the moment is to download Save MMS from the Market and use it. It's not ideal, but it'll work (for me) until the Chinese devs add the functionality back in.

My new question to those more experienced: how do I add custom ringtones for individual contacts?

I've read the user guide before, and I've attempted to edit contact...can you tell me exactly where the ringtone option is? Because I think it disappeared with the 11.26 update like the ability to save MMS attachments to SD card. I spent an hour trying to change my girlfriend's ringtone last night and couldn't find anything. I'll double check now.

Edit: Yup, still not there. I wish everyone wasn't so busy being high and mighty "more knowledgeable than thou" around here and actually attempted said fixes before they tried to make people with legitimate questions feel stupid.

Ringtone - settings/common/ringtones. Also make sure ur on the 12.3 build 11.26 wudnt let u change ringtones. Also when you have a msg you u want to save just long press it and select copy attachment to sdcard. It usually drops it into your gallery under downloaded.

Is English a second language for you, or are your reading comprehension skills really, really bad? publicanimal and jamezelle have both confirmed that there is no more long-press and "copy attached to SD card" function anymore, starting with the 11.26 update. Also, I'm not trying to set my ringtone - that's done. I'm trying to set individual ringtones for specific contacts, like my girlfriend and my daughter.

Can you "Master Droids" get over yourselves for a few minutes and make sure what you're telling people to do is actually right? I've been using MIUI for 6 weeks now, so while I'm not one of the early adopters, I do know my way around. I'm not asking stupid newbie questions, so don't treat them as such. I can only imagine how many people are leaving this amazing ROM because of all the bad advice that's so carelessly doled out.

And, for the record, if you flashed 11.26 over 11.19, you could still set your notifications, both ringtones and LED. Were you aware of that?

I agree. You need to relax. He's only trying to help. If you're on 12.3, go to the contact, click there name and the ringtone option is right in front of your face. You CANNOT miss it. Shows a speaker and says default I think. Press it and you can select the ringtone

A) Rather than admit you misread my question, dismissed me as a noob, and gave me advice that I wasn't asking for, you try to turn this into me being unpleasant? Newsflash - if you'd actually check what you're telling people before spouting it off as gospel, we wouldn't be having this conversation and I wouldn't have been unpleasant. There's a direct causal relationship between your initial dismissive attitude and my unpleasant response, "bub".

B) How was my initial question whiny? I simply asked how to change an individual contact's ringtone.

And DJ Carpenter, I appreciate your attempt at helping me, but when I try to edit contact and click on their name, all it does is bring up the keyboard to change their name. And jellybean, your response to DJ was really mature, although with 420 in your screenname, I guess I shouldn't be expecting maturity. And, just so you know, "master" droid, while I was using 11.26, I installed the 11.05 MMS.apk to continue to download MMS attachments, so your smugness there is unwarranted. I simply didn't want to do that in the 12.3 update, because the theme I'm using has a themed MMS that isn't compatible with the 11.05 MMS.apk.

Thank you, DJ, I found it. I was going into the "Edit Contact" screen as someone else had suggested earlier, and that's one step too far. I appreciate you taking the time to answer the question I was asking and making sure the answer was right instead of just assuming I was an idiot and giving me an answer that hasn't been right for three updates now.
