Older....Official D1-MIUI-0.12.3.2

I woke up at 11:30 this morning, its now 2:54pm and my battery is at 5%. It was 100% when I woke up. The only thing I've done is text a couple people and post a couple replies in the forums. Nothing that should have drained my entire battery in a few hours. Normally my battery lasts all day with MIUI.

Only thing I can think of is maybe tweaking my build.prop

What browser are you using? I tried the Miren browser yesterday and discovered that it is a very serious battery drainer.

That's the one I'm using.

That seems strange. I installed late Sat night. Yesterday my battery did well. I started at 6:30 AM Sunday morning. When I went to bed at 1:30 AM this morning I still had 40%. Currently, my display indicates 80%.

wow. mine would only last that song if i did almost nothing.

I made several phones calls 15 - 20 min total. Surfed the web, tap talk, text, and lots of moving of apps to set things up.

Why don't you guys just get a another Droid for free if it's messing up?

why would i get a new droid because of sms issues with a rom? also the other person who had issues was using sms backup too. im starting to think thats the issue.

I have had trouble with lots of roms and texting. I have intentionally left removed about 15 apps and I don't have problems anymore. I just have not had the time yet to see which one was doing it.

Also I am running UD 2.3.0. I am wondering if someone can tell me what advantages I would get with this ROM. I just got everything the way I want it.

There you go. Uninstall it and use a different browser for a few days and see if your battery life improves. I couldn't believe how much battery that browser was using on my phone.

It might be too late if you've powered off your phone between then and now, but in a situation of extreme power drain like that it's a good idea to go to Settings > Battery > Battery use. That should give you an idea of exactly what's responsible for your power drain.

The last time I had an extreme power drain issue with Miui the culprit was WiFi, so I changed the Advanced WiFi settings to put WiFi to sleep when the screen is off.

so i flash the MIUI ver 0.12.3.0, make a backup of that, then flash the 0.12.3.2...do my apps mounted on the SD card all exist then as far as the MIUI framework is concerned? spend some time dialling the ROM in, back it up again, then theme it?

...since it got lost in the excitement on p.46 :D

I'm 99% sure the answer is yes since the 0.12.3.2 update doesn't do anything to the framework, it just installs different versions of a few system apps. You shouldn't need to reconfigure anything.

The 0.12.3.2 update is just an update for your system apps that needed further translation, shouldn't effect your apps on SD

Can anyone riddle me this? It looks like this if I get a notification,

and I clear it, then this happens

Am I the only one that's seeing this? Can anyone else recreate this? Has to be in landscape obviously. I'm looking into fixing it myself.

What is the issue exactly? That you couldn't see the notification before you clear it? You could see it if you swiped up over the ongoing notifications to scroll down to where the "hidden" notification was.

If your talking about how the bottom of the bar looks different if you have a notification versus when you don't, it looks the same on my phone.

I know it's a dumb question...but I have to ask. Did you have a notification, like an email or text?

Mine looks as I would expect. I only get the Clear button if I have a notification.

You can also long press the back key now to stop the app in it's entirety. I think that it's a new feature implemented in the 12.3 release, or the release prior.

I should have been specific, the pulldown renders incorrectly after I clear my notifications, i know it's minor, but as a web designer it irks me into OCD convulsions.

Anyone know of a remedy or a fix.
