OMFG..My phone just dropped on carpet'd floor and there's a huge crack on it.. :(

DMUpdater DOES have the option to go completely back to stock. I've never tried it, so I don't know how well it works, but that's what I used to root, so if I decided to go back to stock, I'd use it to do that as well. From everything I've read, those guys really know wtf they're doing. I couldn't believe how easy the rooting process was with dmupdater. This will root, are you sure you want to? really sure? downloading. Open back up, creates recovery for you.

Again, not sure how the unroot works.

On a side note, not to be insensitive, but is there any way you can get us some pics of the damage? I'm always interested to see what they look like after horrible accidents. I can't believe mine hasn't shattered. I've dropped it on the hard tile floor at work 2-3 and the battery cover has fallen off and battery flew out almost every time. The tile is some kinda stone, so it's like effing concrete!

Not sure how it'd work if you DIDN'T go back to stock...I mean, if you took it to a vzw store and they saw that you had it rooted, they could deny your claim, but if you're sending it in to them after they've already sent you a replacement and you've paid the fee, idk if they'd even bother to check the software stuff out. I imagine they'd just flash it back to COMPLETE stock with no extra apps or anything and fix the physical damage if it's just the screen and/or a few scratches that're messed up...

Here ya go buddy! Video and all! You'll want the second post to unroot.

When you're rooted, and you open up DMUpdater, it will download some recovery info. I wouldn't worry about that at all. Then, just follow the video!

yes you have to file a claim through assurion and pay the $50 or $80 or $90 deductable and they will have you phone to you the next day. you just send back your broken droid in the padded envelope they provide

I broke my Voyager about 3 times, no insurance, past warranty etc.. whenever I took it to he verizon store they just told me to pay $50 and gave me a refurbished one, so I dont even really know what good having insurance is when they do the same thing for me anyways when it breaks..

lol. i shall post up when i get back from work today.

What i meant was if i have BB v1.0 and i just get dmupdater could i use that "unroot" option to go back to stock, you know just in case?

if not, isn't there another simplier way to unroot/go back to stock? (that wasn't the link that was already posted)

I believe you can. I used to run bb 1.0 and before installing droidmod 1.0, I used the back to stock option with dmupdater and it worked really well. It would be helpful if someone here could post the link to the videos. It makes the whole rooting process so much easier.

Watch these videos and you'll be all set as it's really easy.

Awesome. Thanks. Is the dmu available on the droidmod site or do I have to get it fro, the market?

Can we have a picture of the poor thing? You've got us all freaked out with a crack after a fall on carpet.

I will once I get out of work. But yeah its a terrible eyesore to my once pristine droid :( not to mention it could cut my fingers or face.

To the best of my knowledge (and according to my wife, that's not much), you cannot use DMupdater for anything unless you are using a Droidmod ROM. I went from Droidmod 1.0 to Adamz's Smoked Glass 5.01 (no reason other than to try it) and still have DMupdater on my device. I tried to run it and it errored with "return to stock before running".

Well just want a few questions answered.
How do I restore my nandroid backup? And is there a simplier way to unroot my phone?
