My mom had her Env2 replaced and they send a new battery, I had my Env3 replaced and they send a new battery, my WIFE had her VOyager replaced in Dec and they sent her a new battery.

all 3 phone replaced via Ausrion and all came with new batteries

They'll probably want one back, give them the new one & keep the one you have data on.

I've unrooted my phone before using the "hold x while turning on" method & using dmupdater. Completely stock, minus the apps I downloaded, then rerooted again. Very simple process.

Hold x method? And yeap I shall the board updated on what I get from asurion

Asurion has shipped my droid already, so I should be getting it by tomorrow. Results from that posted soon. Thank you all for the help in this "tragic" time.

Well I figured that it would be okay since its carpet..but I guess not :( I will post pics of my scarred droid and deadly carpet soon.

Since the crack in the screen could possibly cut your face when useing the phone does that make it no longer a droid but a razr?

If you turn on the Droid while holding X on the slide-out keyboard, it will boot to a recovery mode. You can also use this to root (or at least I did).

yeah, just erks me to look at my phone now..i hope no fate like mine befalls any other droids lol.

do you guys suggest protection for the screen? like the ones they sell at verizon or something else that would give it more protection?

I did, but I was sick of looking at those horrible air bubbles, so I run my Droid naked now. Seems like the screen is more responsive, finger prints wipe right off, NO AIR BUBBLES...

i purchased the screen protector and had the guy at the VZW store install it. I don't have any problems with it and there are no air bubbles. For protection, I'd recommend it.
