P3 Says Won't Be Releasing Soon

Awesome. thanks for the input guys! I hope I am as impressed coming from the TBolt ...

But, the most intriguing thing for me regarding the Nexus is the fact that it's Google's baby - no BS with updates and such. Plus there will be HUGE developer support for it (or so it looks anyway).

Who knows, maybe the Razr will get me thinking like you guys

as long as the GNex doest have the same 3g/4g switch problems thats what i will be getting , but im worried this is a non fixable problem with verizons network.
i like the razr and the included software (not blur) but location based services and such. but i dont like non removable batteries too many batteries have shown to degrade overtime and when it cant be swapped than your stuck with it.

by the way my source told me the nexus wont come out today either.

and have you seen this, this is what i have been complaining about all along advertise these speeds and phone abilities but with tierd data make it not a reality. didnt even read into the contracts att seems to win the cake on this one. But anyways interesting read. i hopd this gets more press.

P3 is a solid developer who somehow gets access to stuff months before it comes out. If he heard a rumor that it wasn't dropping until December and decides to share it with us, I'm not gonna fault him for that. I'll be happy if he's wrong.

Yeah, I'm sorry, you said it right there...he gets tons of pre- release hardware then "shares " all kinds of info about it. No random developer is in this kind of position. The XDA Galaxy Nexus forum is full of developers, none of which have G-Nex's, all of which are speculating on release just like us! And, those that do have the Nexus, are beholden to NDA's. There is no chance that P3 doesn't have some sort of compensation deal directly with Verizon. His "leaks" otherwise, would get him fired, lol.

You really can't bash P3 for relaying information any more then the hundred of other posts about the release date. Just like the others, you can believe it or choose not to.. what ever it takes to get you through until release

OK I will explain this once more, the hundreds of other posts confirming the rumor are all based on the P3 rumor. This is a somewhat closed community and therefore a giant echo chamber.

P3 tweets the rumor, this is the first time we hear it.
Next Droid Life posts that same rumor, their source is none other than P3.
Now the tertiary reports come out, and the source is Droid Life.
Now finally the fourth layer that seals the deal is the reports based on those reports which now no longer source Droid Life or P3.
This is what occurs in a closed community, also known as group think. This is the very reason for the Iraq war, all the supports could be tracked back to a single prisoner in Germany who the Germans warned was possibly unreliable.
It is a common occurrence in closed communities, and I imagine information on this topic can be found on the web. Either discussed as a sociological or psychological phenomena or both.

This is precisely correct. The only person whose reliability we need to worry about is P3s, based on what we know (or think I guess) about where this "leak" actually came from. For my part, I don't think P3 is very reliable at all. Sure he's gotten some stuff right, and sure maybe he knows someone on the inside, but he definitely doesn't have a prediction record that's positive, or one anywhere close to be being positive. The stuff he gets right outweighs the stuff he gets wrong because he says everything to everyone all the time. So...maybe he's right about this, but I'd probably still just chalk it up to coincidence if he is...he's more of a chicken little in my eyes then a walter kronkite.

I don't think he has any direct connection with Verizon. Because if he did, why would he knowingly post false information? He knows full well what he posted was nonsense meant to get a stir out of everyone.

He knows it's nonsense, but the type of nonsense which could motivate people to buy a new phone now and then swap for Nexus and they make some more coin on the restocking fee.
The RAZR has posted abysmal numbers and this would go towards changing that. Plus familiarity alters perceptions, and I imagine some who plan to swap for the Nexus will change their minds as they will grow to like the phone they're on more and more.
And again I do not believe he works for Verizon, I merely believe that the two have a nice symbiotic relationship in which each benefits differently.
Verizon accomplishes what they want and P3 receives certain things early which he then can release first and charge for said release. His financial remuneration doesn't come from Verizon, it comes from the community of people who he manipulates by spreading rumors.
