If you asked 1000 people buying 4g phones at Verizon what Ice Cream Sandwich was about 990 would say an Ice Cream Bar.

The average user has no clue and doesn't care.

you may be right and thats sad that people would pay 300 bucks for something they know nothing about.
but of course they will buy the iphone 4s since its got a 4 must be 4g.
I think youd find more people looking for android would know about ics but i do agree there would be a large number that had no idea about what they were buying.

me either . just sitting here so answering back.. i would love to see that happen. just havent seen any updates through verizon(os wise) come in any such timeframe. if htc were to do this they would earn a lot of business thats for sure.

From experience I've noticed that the average buyer is just looking for a phone that will Facebook, email, YouTube, web browse, call, text and look cool. Not many people noticed when their phones upgraded from froyo to gingerbread except that it looked different.

Android is a platform. Most people who use smart phones including the IPhone just want it to work. They don't care at all about what's running it.

Personally I don't care that much about ICS and I am a power user. I want to get the best phone I can get. So it's either the Nexus or RAZR. Don't know enough about the Nexus to choose but ICS doesn't sway me one way or the other.

How can we hear from a few sources on one day that it should drop on Friday then the very next day a couple more sources say end of year. Does anyone know anything? This is a bunch of b/a. Maybe this site should go back to focusing on hacking, support and ROMS and leave the rumors for other sites. FRUSTRATED

Sense is terrible. ICS is supposed to make the user experience easier. Adding Sense to it will nullify many advantages. HTC stinks.

I was hitting on my 3 favorite ladies at vzw today... Guess who already had their ics training this week their branch.
Was showing off my Th3ory and one of them slipped up.. Said my lock screen was not the same.. These girls are iPhone drones.. So I knew they had seen a nexus, so I got to flirting.. They stopped taking about it abruptly for fear of termination, but they have been trained. Don't mean anytime soon, but its a start.

You really can't bash P3 for relaying information any more then the hundred of other posts about the release date. Just like the others, you can believe it or choose not to.. what ever it takes to get you through until release

I figure I will wait it out until Friday afternoon. If it is still the same ghost show then I will probably go buy the Razr/Zound and see if the Gnex comes out by the new return date. I will ultimately have the Gnex but I might as well use the tools available. Worst case scenario I have to go back to my Droid after the 1st of the year... As of right now I am tired of band aiding the OG. Seems like the timer has run out in the last week..

I am also thinking of going and renting either a Razr or Rezound, but will wait till Friday. If the rumor of a Friday release isn't true then ill go ahead and get a new phone and have some fun. Also Friday is my Birthday so no matter what it's going to work out!

Only thing I will miss is root and rom. I switch my roms pretty frequently but I am not going to mess around with a phone I know I am only renting.
