You can google "CM7 SMS" and should be able to find it. I can't post it since I'm on my phone atm.

EDIT: Here's a link to the CM7 apk. LINK

Thanks. To install just download and click Install. I'm surprised as usually messaging is read as a systems app, and you have to use ADB or Root Explorer to replace the default messaging app in System/Apps

Thanks chevy! Upgraded to 4.8 looking good so far. It appears you changed the fonts, which is causing my gmail unread vs. Read mail bold characters to look similar. I had this same problem when I changed font using jrummys app. But I guess I can live with it.

Yeah, that font thing is tough to read in Gmail. Any workaround for this? The Unread and Read messages look the same.

I do not know, last time i had emailed jrummy, he could not suggest anything. Not sure if chevy knows any.

Have you tried experimenting with different fonts and seeing if they fix the problem? (either by using JRummy's Font Installer, or another similar app)

Yes it would fix your issue, or you can download the apk i posted a few posts ago and use the CM Messaging app instead of the clunky blur one.

If your rooted and running either safestrap or cwm you boot into recovery (after downloading the Steel Droid v4.8 zip file & putting it on your SD card) and select install zip from SD card.

Then reboot and you should be set.

Hello All,

This is my first post so please forgive me if I made any mistakes.

To the point, I just successfully installs this ROM (wipe em good before and after install using safestrap), all is good unless a few questions I would like to asks. FYI, I am using GSM only and won't be using the CDMA one.

1. When I choose Global or GSM/UMTS, data service are often lost and cannot be re-activated, whether its using Menu from the upper slide dock (I dont know what its called) or using the Menu from Settings > Battery and Data.

The only way I can turn it on again is to choose UMTS or GSM only (not the automatic one) from Menu Settings > Battery and Data

Is this a feature or a bug ?

2. Is it okay if I install another launcher and remove Nemus completely ?

3. Upon installing an application that will create shortcut on home screen, com.motorola.somethinghere are broken and need to be force closed. Not much a problem though, the shortcut will still be created, but I'm just too paranoia, I guess.

Thank you in advance for any help and suggestions

I had tried multiple options last time when I had this problem using jrummys rom toolbox pro, that was on liberty3 2.0. I just changed my fonts on sd 4.8 to my favorite (zegoe), but still no bold letters in gmail. I will try some more options and get back. Thanks for ur help.

Is there any reason the ROM is hosted on a server that is so slow it makes me think of CompuServe? Can anyone provide a rapidshare or mediafire link?
