Help total newbie but intelligent lol i am so new to this have spent two hours reading forum searching for a an answer to this i was given my dads droid 3 i called verizon to set up prepaid was very rudley told i had to buy a new phone as i cant do prepaid with this so i asked about the contract they want and they were as sweet as pie until i explained 145 amonth was too high then the nasty came out in her she said i was just out of luck and my like new droid 3 was a door stopper and laughed and hung up on me sooooooo just need to know from people here can i use this if i root and rom on other providers or is it really just junk my dad said they told him it was unlocked.i hope i'm posting in right forum and thank you

It is slightly difficult to understand your english because of lack of punctuations (btw, I m not a native english speaker myself, so I m not criticizing, just saying). Anyways, appears that you have a bad ESN? If that is the case, I would just sell it on ebay.com.

Good news! Looks like our forgotten Droid3 is going to get an update! I have gotten my 906 base booting, with majority of my touches.

Yeah, its about time. I basically have my ROM where I want it. Its going to be v4.8, and it will be based on the 5.7.906 base......FINALLY. Ive been banging my head on the desk for about a month now, trying to get this to work. I finally did it, and it should be available to the public shortly.

v4.8 will be out today. I have a few errands to run, then I will be back to update the OP. As far as my testing has gone, everything works, but I dont have a data connection like 3G, so I cant test that aspect (Im using the GNex on my plan). If there is a fix that needs done, let me know, and I will update it!

OK, so just a little longer. Im waiting to hear back from one of my testers to give me the final word. I think its ready to go at the stage its in. Its NOT complete, but its release-worthy. :-D

Thanks chevy! Upgraded to 4.8 looking good so far. It appears you changed the fonts, which is causing my gmail unread vs. Read mail bold characters to look similar. I had this same problem when I changed font using jrummys app. But I guess I can live with it.

Thats one of the next things to do. There are a few others, but its going to take some time.

Loaded 4.8 up last night and everything is working perfect so far. Fb sync is working in this build too. Even for the first day, battery is really good too and that's with pretty heavy use. Thanks for all your hard work, Chevy.
