There's a problem for me with the latest version of ics steel droid. It starts downloading, but gets progressively slower to the point where its going at 1 kb/s...

I include Doggie so that people have an ICS-themed file explorer app already there, without the need to download one each time they flash my ROM. Saves a bit of data usage, and a lot of time, if you have 99% of the apps you always use, already on your SD card. That way you can just go in with Doggie, and install every app you want, no delay, including whatever file manager you use. When your ready, just use your file manager if choice and delete Doggie from /system/app/.

Also, you have video playback? How? Doesn't even work for me. I know face detect and all don't work, but video camera and video playback works?

I would like to know he got video playback to work also. I never have gotten netflix to work on any ics rom.

Just flashed this and everything is working perfect. BUT GET THE DANG DOGGIE FILE EXPLORER OFF. I WOULD RATHER USE MY OWN.

Oh, And something I don't understand: Netflix works perfect. And well, Everything video related is perfect for me. The only thing that doesn't work is the panoramic camera and face detect.

Not to be nosy, but can you tell me the steps you used to install 5.5? Or what extra apps you have installed ? I am really curious how your Netflix and camera works and mine doesn't lol.

I'm just going to take a wild guess and say that I'm going to have to wait a version or two until I can go straight from 5.7.906, right? If anyone has had success flashing it from this rom, let me know what I'm doing wrong.

You can, you just have to use safestrap. Download for it is in the OP. I'm on 906 and I flash them all, lol

I just finished flashing and its working!!!!! thank you chevycam94 for making this awesome rom.
I noticed a few minor problems: the vibration is very weak, when I connect through wifi I cant see a signal bar on wifi - can i fix it by changing the settings?
GSM network appears to be working, but I cant get any information about the signal (signal meter show 0dBm always)

You have to flash it in Safe Mode. Non-Safe Mode wont flash it (I tried the same thing, and it did what you experienced). Dont know why that is, but Rick#2 will have to get it fixed, if he is even still working on it anymore.

I have installed the SD 5.5 and I like very much ICS and my phone response, but in my case the problem about "com.android.phone" process continues.

The first time after flash is possible to enter Mobile Network settings, then I select "Only GSM" and set my APN, but after that is not possible to return again to this setting, because the process error.

I have flashed my phone with SD 5.5 several times, with different conditions, and always happen the same.

Is this a known bug? There is a way to fix this?

I flashed steel droid 5.3 with bootstrap. Maybe that's why my keyboard stopped working and then my phone went into a bootloop several hours later....

Idk how to use or even install safestrap yet. help please?

I dont know if everybody knows, but I managed to play videos that were taken by my camcorder(in the GB rom), and I can watch youtube with this rom.
all I did was installing MX player and codecs (for arm V7), and also flash player. I know it's not h/w codecs but it works and you can watch videos... :biggrin: :biggrin: :biggrin:

I don't think it matter how you flash it. I've had the same results with every install method. Will test more when I get home.
