You have to flash it in Safe Mode. Non-Safe Mode wont flash it (I tried the same thing, and it did what you experienced). Dont know why that is, but Rick#2 will have to get it fixed, if he is even still working on it anymore.

I figured that out after, but each successful flash resulted in 5.5 getting stuck in the boot animation, so I just gave up and SBF'd it to get rid of all the convoluted mess it cased.

same happened to me, then I just wiped data /factory reset and it works

Ah. I never tried a factory reset so that could have been what caused it to fail for me. Oh well. Thanks for the tip, though. If I do try it again, I will use this method.

On another note, for those who don't know this release supports the AOKP Theme Chooser. If you have about a $1.27 to spend I'd highly suggest checking out this theme (LINKY). It's one of the most complete and gorgeous themes I've ever used.

Haha yeah its pretty sick, I've been running it on my Transformer for over a year and can't get enough of it. Lol They're still expanding too, soon to be adding even more themed apps and features.

Thanks for all your work. I have used each version up to the present. I have a problem with static when using bluetooth. I don't seem to have any problem listening to music with bluetooth headphones but when I use the phone to speak to another person they get a lot of static. Is this a known problem? Any solution? Thanks.

I have to dig some more but it seems since moving to 5.5 my Droid 3 has been taking a significant hit in the battery department with the Android OS chewing up 39% of the battery life.
