Report: Samsung Galaxy S II Not Making Its Way to Verizon

I don't think you understand, maybe you haven't looked at the Bionic FCC documents which show the small size of the 2nd generation 4G LTE chip. Both revisions of the SGSII have been dramatically altered, in size, function, even differing processors. This argument just does not hold water.

i haven't studied the FCC docs very closely - what are the dimensions of the LTE chip?? i'm curious mainly to see if that chip could fit in the DHD?!

i've been looking thru the FCC docs, and for the life of me i can't see where the LTE chip dimensions are displayed/listed...any help???

so... people are actually surprised that another outstanding android phone won't be coming to verizon?
this is always the case. the carrier with the best service gets the crappiest phones. and all the "flagship" devices go to t-mobile.
if anyone could explain this i would appreciate it.

and, isn't any nexus phone unlikely to appear on big red?

Then tell me why I have been reading that the Bionic is one of the thickest smart phones out?

YEAH! and what's up with the name "Droid Bionic" anyway?

like c'mon is it an android or is it bionic? is it totally redundant???? YEAH RABBLE RABBLE.

And yet it's still better than your Droid 3.

lol, sorry had to say it.

Depends on how you look at it. I wanted a gsii pretty bad. I like my keyboard, my screen is better (ive compared), FFC is useless to me otherwise the gs2's is better. Could go on and on and on about the differences but I chose the D3 instead of waiting to just hear the news that it will never be on verizons network. Cross comparison between different phones on different networks is pointless. I have the best phone for verizon. IMO. Just as your opinion was the s2 is better. 200 mhz and 256 mb of ram isn't work the speculated $800 price tag. If I wanted the absolute best I would have to switch networks. But then a month later, there is a better phone. Choose by your personal preference, not specs. Because the way phones are now it doesn't make a difference.

I'm sorry, but your screen is not better. The SGSII's screen rivals even Iphone's Renta displays.

The rest of what you said is correct, your personal opinion is what matters in the end, but saying the D3's pentile screen is better than the SGSII's Super Amoled Plus screen is completely false information.

Theoretically and in real life results.

Wow epic forum fail, can't edit Retina* and it post twice.

What a bummer. Hopefully HTC comes through for those of us trying to get out from under the thumb Moto.

Both phones in hand, side by side comparison... If you like over saturated and lower DPI images, then yes any samsung device will "look" better to you. Pentile or not, this screen is brighter and sharper than the gsii. Specs don't mean a thing if its not usable in a real life environment. In order for the pentile to function like it does, you will indeed see pixels if you look at it from 2 inches away. I would rather have a sharper image with the correct colors then the vivid over saturated colors the amoled screens that samsung puts in there devices, that includes there higher res amoled plus screens.. Even the retna display has better color correction. I don't see why people like having their colors be so off, its tacky.

This is pure bull. First they are supposed to be the first ones with the GS2, now they aren't even getting it?
Engadget said:
We just heard from a Verizon spokesperson who confirmed the carrier will not be carrying the device, and offered the following quote: "We have a robust portfolio of devices that offer customers exciting options including the Droid Charge by Samsung which runs on Verizon Wireless' 4G LTE network."
How can you even compare the Charge to the GS2?! Even without 4G it is an incredible device and wonder sell like pancakes at IHOP. Stupid move on Verizon's part...very stupid move. If this is an attempt to sell more Bionics, it ain't working on me, I'll just continue to wait for the Vigor.
