Rezound vs Nexus, which should i get?

I really hate what all of this has done to the forums. Someone just wanted to gain some info about a future purchase and it becomes a who's richard is longer argument. I have a rezound and am getting a nexus but can't even point out the goods stuff with out worry of people jumping to defense of another phone. I know were all on edge waiting for those jerks to release the darn phone but lets all relax.

What I've seen is all specs and power rankings aside, nobody ever takes into the picture of what type of user might be posting the question. This changes the answer drastically in my view. If you love to have the freedom to change and mod and theme then of course the Nexus, but if your an everyday normal type who could care less about that stuff maybe the Rezound is better for that situation. Also if you like the thrill of a phone getting rooted and unlocked by people in communities just like this one like I do the Nexus while awesome does lose some of that thrill for me. If phones where easy to hack then there would be no reason for this forum, I would have never need help gaining root on the OG 2+ years ago.

Bottom line, these phones are far above anything we have had yet and they are really close in specs, so the specs shouldn't even be involved, lets enjoy the fact that there is great options out there including the RAZR not my favorite but not due to specs I just didn't like it.
couldn't agree more. There's a variety of android phones to choose from and each phone has its strengths and weaknesses. Do you need a big screen, keyboard, size, etc. there's a phone out there for all kinds of users. The problem is when people are undecided on a phone that isn't even out yet and all we can go by is by specs and whatever reviews say. The most important thing when it comes to getting a phone is personal hands on time and seeing if that phones fits your needs.

There's no harm is asking for the opinion of others, but really if it's against a phone that's not even out yet then it becomes a bit of a touchy subject. I recommend OP and anyone else that's having a hard time getting a phone take a look at this: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dr...ne-i-should-buy-right-me.html?referrerid=3167

I too am wondering if I should give up waiting for the nexus and get a rezound. Every day I have a different opinion on which phone would best suit my needs. I heard that the nexus will have way more developers working on it, thus having a lot more roms to choose from. I'm definitely gonna root my phone and I love flashing new roms because I get sick of them after awhile, so that's an important feature for me. I also heard the rezound doesn't have many developers working on it. Is this true?

Razr wasn't in the OP...just sayin. I'd go nexus. Flash a 1.5ghz kernal(stock CPU speed) and that thing is gonna fly. Mucho dev support. Plus a 4.65" 720p screen and an 1850mah battery?!? Sounds like a win to me. If you leave phones stock then its a toss up.

i will just use it stock to be honest. I dont know crap about different roms, and what they do, guessing they make the phone faster or something? And overclocking a phone? lol no thanks. I already ordered a rezound case otterbox defender, so gonna get that. Hopefully the rezound will have developers working on it, for a rom or 2 also. hehe

ahggg those cpu vs cpu posts make me cringe! Clockspeed is NOT everything! The 4460 is a better chip than the one in the Rezound, and the nexus could run stock at 1.5 Ghz, so there is probably a reason google underclocked the chip! As for the OP, I would still say nexus, just because even if you don't root your going to be getting the faster processor + peole are expecting the longest support dev support for a phone since the OG droid. Just because the Nexus isn't out doesn't mean you'll have to settle for a worse phone, its only a few more weeks at the LONGEST, and for anybody saying its too long, I've been waiting on my upgrade since August. Last year. I need money...

I would be weary in choosing the Rezound. Great phone but the battery is simoky horrid. I bought the Rezound when it came out but then returned it a week later due to the battery. The ticker was when the phone died after 8 hours of not even using it. I had a full battery at noon, did not use the phone once all day (it was asleep the entire day) and around 8pm I heard a noise coming from the phone. It shut down because the battery died. This was simply unacceptable so I returned it. I am going to consider the Nexus when it comes out. I liked the Rezound when I had it and hopefully they can come out with a higher grade battery that will be suffucient enough for the phone.
