[ROM][4.7.2011] Das BAMF 1.4

For everyone complaining about bad battery after max charge, check out XDA, there is a post on there about how charging works... Your phone doesn't charge to 100% and then trickle charge to sustain that charge, because that degrades your battery over time. Instead, it hits 100% then completely stops charging until it hits a certain point and begins charging again. It only reads 100% to make the average user happy, more or less.
Bump charging works, but also reduces your battery life as well. I'd post the link, but I'm on my phone at work. I'll do it later if anyone is interested.

Reinstalled it, and it seems to be doing better now. Also installed a new kernel, so that might be helping.

But to be honest, I think it draining quicker, at least on my end, is an optical illusion. Watching the battery life drain down by increments of 1, as compared to not having a visible numeric charge and seeing it in increments of ten otherwise...
Well, it makes the battery appear to be draining quicker. I don't know for sure as I haven't really been monitoring numbers, etc... But it seems comparable, although I still seem to be draining slightly quicker on 1.4.

I'm still going to stick with it though, I love everything else about it. Just the battery is concerning still. Wonder if i would still see the battery drain issue if I only had the stock battery monitor.

That does make sense. Especially when I take my TB off the charger right when it finishes charging, it stays at 100% longer. But when I take it off from overnight it drops to around 96-98%. Good info, thanks.

And definitely a nice post about battery. Thank you much :)

awesome, looks really good. This will be my first rom flashing on my TB. I noticed on the xda forums, s-off is required. I did the 3 step root method, doing that switches me too s-off right? Also as usual, I'm guessing the typical wipe data is required.

Power off your phone and then power on while holding the down button, it will say S-OFF or S-ON at the top of the screen.

I have CW, so it doesn't show at the top...

I think the key part to highlight here is : "But to be honest, I think it draining quicker, at least on my end, is an optical illusion. Watching the battery life drain down by increments of 1, as compared to not having a visible numeric charge and seeing it in increments of ten otherwise..."

Also, I noticed if you let the battery run down to 20% and charge it back up - it helps make the battery meter more accurate. I think it was reset in the installation of this rom.

Ever reset the battery stats in CM? Your battery will drop like a flying brick in the first 2 hours but then last forever at 20% or 30%. The battery meter is just learning. The next 2-3 charges you do (let it drain a bit), it will be more accurate.

Thank you BigM :)
Will let it drain to 20%ish today.

Anyone else getting a FC on the browser when trying to share or copy a link?
Also, when trying to do a bump charge, my phone reboots to CW?

This thread has been Thunder struck!

Some one posted earlier your not supposed to do bumpcharge on thunder

Loving the ROM so far! Only issue I have is no voice search. I get a force close whenever I try to use the voice function.

Any ideas?

Okay so I am glad that I am not the only one experiencing the horrid battery drop on this rom. Did not have this battery issue when I was rooted stock.

I have let the battery drain all the way down and I have done the battery calibration tricks all to no avail. Anyone got any suggestions regarding the battery???

Keep it plugged in all the time :)

If you are running the 1.4 overclocked kernel included with this ROM and you are a heavy user, battery drain is to be expected. Running at such high speeds the battery needs to be overvolted therefore causing more heat and battery drain. Heat is always bad in electronics. The more heat you have the more energy drain there will be.

You can not bump charge the Thunderbolt. That's why it runs the bootloader when you try to bump charge.
