[ROM] [ROM-AOSP] Official CM10.1 (JB 4.2.2) [NIGHTLIES]

Yes I am. But I literally just resolved the issue, though I did two things differetly, so I'm not sure which change should be acredditted. The obvious one is I downloaded today's nightly, which is a different build than the previous. But also, as opposed to putting it on my SD card like I do with all of my other ROM .zips, I figured since being a Kexec build it may have to but right into the memory from the phones own memory, so I put it on my internal storage instead.

So now that that's taken care of, all I have to do now is try to figure out what noticible advantage this kexec build might have, if any.

i'm finding issues having the new nightly's loading while using myfishbears 1380ulv overclock mod. let me know if anyone else has this issue or it's just my phone starting to die

Anyone have issues with the Navigation app? It seems to know where I am because the blue dot is approximately where I am but it never seems to find the satellites.

I think I saw hashcode tweet something this morning about uninstalling navigation if it wasn't working and then reinstalling from the Play store.

Screen is white noise fro m bootup.

Hey there, Firstly, thank you for an awesome rom, I've been running it for a long time now.

I was running the 3/14 nightly on my D4. I started noticing some strange problems when I would lock the screen. For instance, if i would lock the screen when the slider was out and then close the slider and try to unlock it, the screen would just stay black. I also began experiencing some intermittent screen tearing when switching orientations (despite it being fixed in a previous build).

Last night I was unable to get the phone to unlock, the screen just stayed black, the hardware keys and lights would light up like it was unlocked and even though the screen showed nothing. Strangely, I was able to swipe my finger on the screen and get tactile feedback from the OS unlock.

I did a hard reset to fix it, but before it even hits safestrap i just get a whitenoise screen. I let the battery run out in hopes that a full shutdown would fix it, but alas when i plug it back in i get the whitenoise screen where the charging icon would normally be.

Some people are claiming there is no fix -- http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dr...stopped-working-displaying-static-screen.html -- I'm wondering if this is correlated to my install of the nightly or if i can use ADB to work though it.

Phone is essentially bricked for now. Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts?

That doesn't look good. Typically I would ponder if that's a hardware issue, but we both know it isn't.

Can you still get to the fastboot screen? I forget what button combo that is on the D4 off the top of my head. Power and x? Power and a volume button?

I'd say your best bet is to sbf it back to stock, but I'm tempted to say having safestrap installed with give you grief. I know Hash has instructions to remove it via ADB but given your lack of functionality I don't know how useful that is.

Sounds like you've got your work cut out for you, sorry man.

With the phone powered off, hold down the power + volume up+ volume down keys until you get to a menu. If you can get here, there is still hope, but you are going to need to get a hold of the fastboot files.

On a personal note, I think it is most def a hardware issue... a static background noise means that there is a video disconnect, somewhere. It's like a tv that's been unplugged. Software wouldn't cause something like this, I don't think. It just depends how far into your system the failure went. Sounds like the electrical is ok, you're getting something on your screen, but where is that video coming from? The signal is stopping dead before it hits the bus to your screen. I think you're screwed, but try the reset.

Fastboot is power and vol up and vol down, I believe.

Indeed it is, but no luck. Just scrambled screen. VZ is going to send me a new phone... lets hope they dont look into it. I'm open to crazy dangerous ideas.

Also, You think you're pretty smart, don't you, Trebek? What with your Diego mustache and your greasy hair!

Definitely a hardware failure then. Short of opening your phone and performing surgery, there isn't much to do. Just wait for the replacement. Don't fret about VZW looking too hard into it. Considering they can't even use the screen to check your phone they would have to work really hard to check it's software status, something I doubt they're interested in.

Myfishbear's oc scripts only work with Eclipse..... right? Unless I am mistaken......

not sure. they have worked perfectly for me with no issues. It is working a little better now. it's starting to do odd things.

after the safestrap screen before the cyanogenmod splash the phone does a quick vibrate then reboots again. It was just locking up when i made my earlier post. But now it will do this a few times and finally boot. it might do this about 10 times before it boots, or 20 times. if i disable rom slot 1 and load the standard verizon image the phone works fine every time. i have uninstalled safestrap and reinstalled the 3.11. no changes

also now i have noticed google goggles locks up once the camera initalizes and the camera app force closes after it starts focusing. So no camera for me right now in cm10.1

I'm planning on SBFing my phone and installing the new official Jellybean OTA. I was curious though does anyone know if Safe Strap 3.11 and this CM10.1 rom are compatible with it?
