[ROM] ApeX 1.2 Series for Droid X - Functionality and Performance (12/7/10)

installation FAIL
so i tried to install this morning. wiped data and cache. reinstalled all apps and data via mybackup pro (i was coming from tranquility 3.5). went to reboot into recovery to install my themed swype, and now i'm stuck at the boot logo. the same thing happend when i first flashed traq 3.5, too. no biggie since i have the system sbf at home, but i was wondering where i/what went wrong. anyone else have this problem?

Can any apk be installed with your script, or does it have to be signed?
For instance, when I edit an apk file but dont sign it (because I just dont know how) I normally have to move to system/app and reboot. Will your install script keep me from having to do that? I dont know enough about apk's and what your script does excatly.

Did you use ROM Manager to boot into recovery? Sometimes it fails, and you get stuck at the M. You just gotta wait a little bit and it'll reboot into Android again.
They don't need to be signed, since the install script installs them to /system/app. Only apps installed onto /data/app/ have to be signed

10 minutes, still at the boot logo. sbf it is. by the time i get home from work, TBH should have the full sbf released. in all likelihood, it will also have been pulled by then, too. 
Is there a way to make the blur carhome.apk to look like it does from the factory with the darker icons? When using this rom it changes the icons to white and only the center color changes from white and orange. I prefer the icon backgrounds dark because the white is distracting?
Also, awesome work I am loving this rom with the revo theme.

Not very easy, because it just takes the color of the standard Android icons, which we need to leave white, because the text is black.
Anything in particular wrong with the AOSP app? I find it to be pretty good, though admittedly, I don't use the car dock at all. I prefer just using the standard interface while driving (less limiting)
I prefer the motorola one because it has directions as in N, S, E, W, as well as the mid points, also when you open the navigation it displays MPH and a few other things. The google one doesn't.
Edit: I am also narcoleptic so its not as straining on my eyes if its darker then the bright white color.
What is it that we change from stock blur to make it that we have to have white instead of black?

seems to me that restoring your apps and data via mybackup pro is what is causing you a problem.
something you are restoring is screwing things up

i should clarify, i am only restoring the apps and app data. but i'm sure you're right. however, if it is anything like my tranquility install, once i sbf and restore, everything should be fine. maybe that should be my protocol for switching roms: sbf then install.

Question - does the way ADW is installed on this rom allow us to receive updates from the market? I do see ADW in my market apps - but I was just double checking bc I couldn't actually find where adw.apk was installed on my phone.

I noticed also that i was unable to locate ADW in market...but it's located in/ system/app (i always remove it,lol)... hope that helps
