Making my mouth water. Is sbf the only way to get on this one?

At the moment, will there be any changes if I upgrade to the official nightlies from one of the unofficials from 6/28?

Also, does Netflix work on CM7?

Ok. Here it comes.

WARNING WARNING, GRAIN OF SALT ADVISED. GIANT HEAPING MOUNTAIN GRAIN OF SALT.

I was trying to walk my sister through the process of going from Liberty .8 to CM7. I typed out a whole huge guide about how to SBF and flash and do gapps and whatnot. Turns out, Vista sucks. Who knew. So SBFing was tough to walk her through what with her being on the other side of the country and being tech illiterate.

So I tried this and it worked.

Flashed this all in one .zip from TBH. CM7 Beta Compliments of JBirdVegas and MetiCKOne

It didn't quite work all the way, but after going into CWM and attempting to flash it twice (WITHOUT REBOOTING) I had her try flashing CM7 (AGAIN, WITHOUT REBOOTING).

This worked.

Of course I had her wipe data/cache all that crap first. But it worked!

AGAIN, GRAIN OF SALT.

The and wasn't too bad. Our was like meeting am old friend fire a few minutes before ripping out his brain and swapping it out for a super brain. It's franklin fantastic!
I hit a 2400+ playing with quadrant, and I haven't event flashed imosoyen yet.

Maybe I missed it reading through the hundreds of posts but I seem to be having problems with the physical keyboard lighting. It does not work for me at all. Is there a setting I'm missing or is this a known issue? Also my auto brightness seems to be stuck at max. Any ideas?

Besides these small issues, this rom is the best out for this phone by far. Hats off to everyone that contributed. Great job guys!

This was an issue that I had but was fixed from v14.1 onwards. We're way past that now and it's not been an issue.

I've been running the nightlies since they started coming out, updating with each new one that comes out. Maybe i should go to a previous build that isnt a nightly? Not sure why this is happening to me if it has previously been resolved.

CM4D2 unnoficial nightly links

Try loading the most recent from there...should not have any real differences other than 1% battery charge increments in the status bar, but worth a shot to see if it shake a couple bytes free.

If not, and I know you don't want to hear this, you'll likely have to wipe data/cache, format system, and reinstall the ROM.

Updated with the nightly on room manager. What modification was made for
1% increments., these new updates don't have it. Anything I can change? Maybe in build props?

1% battery increments are only in the unofficial nightlies. As of tonight, the official nightlies will have the the fixed Torch apk.

If you want the 1% increments, for now you'll have to load the unofficial nightlies. There is some work going on to add that to CM officially, but it could be a while...

CM4D2 unnoficial nightly links

Other than the 1% increments the unofficial and official nightlies are the same.

Haha. I was helped by some really great people when i was a noob. I was so grateful for the help. They just told me to pass it on when i became more fluent in this stuff. Now, I love it. I talk to different people all over the country each night from these forums, walking them through freak outs and such. Its a great community and i learn something new every day. I never thought I would get so hooked ;)

Plus im going through an intense medical treatment that makes me really sick (makes this 30 year old feel 50). why not try and help out where i can?

If for some reason I wanted to switch to a different rom like liberty or apex, would I need to SBF first since this is android 2.3 running on the froyo kernel? Or since it's still the froyo kernel, can I just format system/wipe data+cache and then install the new ROM?

Thanks Redflea. That did the trick. I don't know why I didn't think of that, maybe because I just sbf'd before coming to cyanogen. My phone is working perfectly now. Cyanogen is the best!

If you're on a Froyo ROM, you can just wipe data/cache, format system, and install the CM ROM and Gapps.
