See my post again. I re-edited it to clean it up. You need to use the file provided in the link I gave you. I would not know if replacing the older CM7 with Build 16 will work or not. I would just be safe and do step by step what I gave you and then once all that is done you can go straight to Build 16.
When you flash Build 16 this is all you have to do:
- Go into Recovery
- Wipe Cache Partition
- Wipe Dalvik Cache
- Flash CM7 Build 16 zip
- Flash Gapps zip
- Reboot
Note: Once on CM7 for the first time, do not use Koush's Bootstrap anymore. Just hold the Power button down, click Reboot, click Recovery to get into Recovery to flash nightlies.
Hey guys, I just installed cyanogenmod 7 build 16 on my droid 2 this morning and now I get stuck at the logo when I boot. After some frustration I decided to go into the regular recovery and wipe my data and cache, but I still could not boot. I figured that i might as well restore my backup which I created before I updated to the latest nightly but I have no way of entering clockwork recovery.
Does anyone know a way of entering the clockwork recovery mode?
Ps. I have tried the method that involves pulling the battery during boot but that apparently only works if you can get to the boot animation which I cannot.
Thank you very much swagger. I'm gonna give it a go. So formatting the system and all that removes the need to wipe data etc..
So I have the update.zip and the build 16 and the gapps. I'll follow it to the letter. Next time you hear from me, I hope to be on cm! Fingers crossed
Alright. I'll be around here. Just make sure you don't flash Build 16 till after you've done everything else first and CM7 is settled down before going back into Recovery to flash Build 16 plus Gapps zip.
Is anyone else having problems with the picture gallery taking a LOOOOOOOOONG time to load? No other ROM I've ever used is as slow at loading the picture gallery as this one.

One more question: once on cm, when I boot into recovery to flash the new nightly, is it just like any other rom? You didn't mention having to wipe data before installing zip from sd (only cache and dalvik). Then after installing the nightly, just install gapps on top before reboot right? Just want to be clear. Thank you
I'm intrested to hear how it goes for idopa. I'm interested in trying that method but may hold off until I'm home an have the sbf on hand should things go wrong.
Worked great! The installation aborted which freaked me out, bit then I remembered that one may get a radio error. I'm up and running now. It's freaking great and ill prob jump on the latest nightly soon.

If you push Menu softkey, click on Settings, click on Cyanogenmod settings, click on System, look at the Changelog, you'll see under View changelog on what build you're on.
