[ROM] [BETA] CyanogenMod 7 for Droid 2

Build 16 is the first build that I've used that has the keyboard backlights working consistently. Great work guys this ROM is incredible

Now I'm set up real nice. Where can I start searching for the numerous themes available on cm?

This rom is like a whole 'nother level of sick! Well done.

Try searching for theme choose or cm7 in the market, you'll find plenty. There is also a forum here that lists them all. My favorites so far are honeybread for cm7 and Red remix.

honeybread is sort of similar to gingercomb juiced, but has some really nice touches.

Stuck at motorola logo

Hey guys, I just installed cyanogenmod 7 build 16 on my droid 2 this morning and now I get stuck at the logo when I boot. After some frustration I decided to go into the regular recovery and wipe my data and cache, but I still could not boot. I figured that i might as well restore my backup which I created before I updated to the latest nightly but I have no way of entering clockwork recovery.

Does anyone know a way of entering the clockwork recovery mode?

Ps. I have tried the method that involves pulling the battery during boot but that apparently only works if you can get to the boot animation which I cannot.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

What ROM were you on prior to flashing CyanogenMod?

This is going to be an extremely noobish question but....

How do you wipe the Dalvik cache? I haven't found a related option in cmr, only the usual wipe cache partition

No problem.

Here's the link to a more thorough list of all known CM7-supported themes.

[UPDATE 7-15-11] Theme Chooser Themes - Over 180 Themes! - New Format! - New Thread! - xda-developers

Over 180 themes. HDPI, MDPI, LDPI and such. I would stick with the HDPI themes since our D2's are HDPI only. Some MDPI themes work but due to certain framework-res parts, and apps like Vending.apk (Market) will not be themed because they are HDPI and not MDPI.

You will find some on the Market but due to themers naming them differently, they might not all show up when searching for CM7 themes.

All you'll have to do is make a custom folder on your SD Card and name it related to CM7 themes so you know where to find it. Make branches inside the folder to keep each theme separate because some themes may have additional stuff that isn't all in the theme and requires using Metamorph or ZipThemer to completely theme your CM7. Such additional stuff may be themeing all apps in the app drawer, lockscreens, widgets and other stuff.

I'm sure you already know this but just letting you know, CM7's Theme Chooser's app is in the app drawer. That's what you will be using to apply themes. Also, you may be prompted to reboot your phone for the theme to complete apply to CM7. It's not required, but I do it just to be sure it's fully applied.

One last thing... if you use WidgetLocker and put a widget on there or anything else, it may disappear after you reboot your phone. It is not a WidgetLocker issue. It's a CM7/ThemeChooser issue. They may have fixed that problem because I have not seen my widgets, MT Time, and other stuff disappear for awhile now. It used to at first till after I flashed one of the nightlies. I have no idea which nightly may have fixed it, but at least it sticks now.

Anything other questions just ask away.

before I flashed build #16 I was on #17 all the way down until build 4 I think. When I flashed build 4 i completely wiped it, and since then I have just wiped the dalvik cache and installed the next version from rom manager.

Why did you flash build 16 over build 17? Just curious.

I have no idea why you're having the problems you're having. You may have to SBF if nothing else works.

Dl a bunch of themes from the market. This is so great. Finally, I can just apply a theme in the fly without having to boot into cw. Soooo customizable and easy. This is how it is supposed to be.

I've been told that I could do that... I forget the source but I was told that you only needed to do a complete wipe when your installing a totally new rom. And I've been doing that since build #4 and this is the only one I've had a problem with. I assume there's an SBF tutorial around here somewhere, right?
