That's what an extra battery is for (5 bucks on Amazon). I agree with you, buuuut this rom is too good to leave imo. The pros out weigh the one con in my case. I do hope the battery life gets fixed soon though
I actually had fairly respectable performance today. 10 hours of running time since full charge, moderate usage, and 50% battery left. Not terrible by any means.
I did the battery calibration and installed Juice Defender and left it on Balanced and it seems to have helped quite a bit.
It's based off the froyo kernel so I assumed technically we're on froyo. Maybe I'm wrong? Not that I'm thinking of going anywhere with a great rom like this.
I think I fixed my brightness issue. I changed the brightness toggle settings in the status bar power widget to: auto/dim/40/100. It's holding now (so far). I had it on a different setting (which obviously was not holding for whatever reason)
Question: I'm trying to use anim mod to change my animations. It has always worked, but since getting on this nightly, it's telling me that it's unable to mount system r/w. I've tried using terminal to mount it, but it's saying not found. Any suggestions? Thank you.
Edit: nevermind. I used liberty toolbox/miscellaneous to mount r/w and then applied the animation. Worked great!

Thing is it was working fine before I flashed this ROM. I shouldht have to download another app and have it running just to get decent battery life. I love the ROM and Im not changing, but I really hope they get the battery issues fixed soon.
Alt lock does not, and probably may never, work. Something about using the D1 key mappings and the D1 doesnt have alt lock. So thats an issue yes but a known one.
The backlight not sure. Did you try locking and unlocking the screen? Dont know if it would help. Mine did it while I was on Liberty after reboots and that would fix it. Dont know if its a specific bug with the ROM though.
You should not have to use apps to fix issues, but until they are fixed, there are Apps that will do the job. So I'm gonna use them (juice defender) For example, the backlight. If cm settings/display/auto backlight/custom, edit other levels doesn't fix the issue for whatever reason, the app backlight off (33kb) will allow you to toggle keyboard backlight. Mine works fine, but you can try it droid2drummer. Check brightness settings within the rom first though

I used juice defender well before I started using this ROM. It's a great way to extend battery life even when you have a ROM with already awesome battery life.
Battery life is something that we, as users, have been reporting as much as we can, in hopes that the devs can figure out where the issue is originating from. Until we have a fix, all we can do is give our awesome devs as much info as we can.

All is good! Thanks Idopa! Yet AGAIN!! JEEZ! I thought I knew some stuff about these devices! Lol from one rom whore to another! Thanks bro! Backlight is working well enough and I only need at night for my fine girlfriend! Lol
Yeah, juice defender has been my on again off again friend for 6 months now. It's sometimes annoying, but I decided to use it with cm because it's.... well just necessary at the moment. The ultimate ver is worth it. Very nice customizations.
