So for upgrades from one version to the next do you need to clear data, etc? Assuming should just be able to upgrade over but checking in advance.

Being that I'm a tester I always wipe. A good habit to get into.

It might be a good idea since you are switching roms. /data stores not just downloaded apps and data, but the data of system apps as well. I wouldn't wipe data between builds or releases of this rom unless you have problems with your apps.

I recently wiped between beta builds and freed at least 35-40 MB in /data, even after restoring apps. I did manage to cull a few apps, but I think there was some wasted space some how. No doubt it came from prolly 6 months of usage without wiping.

its really just good practice in life... i'm sorry it was just there...and A855 could easily be seen as ass if one were slightly inebriated

my plans were ruined by rain, so i decided to have a Four Loko Saturday :icon_ banana:

I'm in the same camp! I always wipe before install a new rom. I'd rather have a clean base and redo my apps than a unstable OS. Just my opinion.

In my case it's not the apps that are the issue. It's all the cursory things that go along with them. NoteEverything loses all its notes. My contacts get "unjoined" so Facebook fails to reconnect many of them (those whose names don't match up exactly) and so on.

Usually takes me several days to get close and virtually every wipe I lose something from the time before. What's more is that Launcher Pro is never right from a backup no matter what I do and then Handcent is a pain to restore, etc.
