[ROM] [ROM] Droid Concepts Froyo Releases [BETA versions]

Any chance the read ahead can be done via a script vs baking it into the rom? Better yet a setting in DC tools would be nice. :) I feel this is giving my phone some fits too.

Are you guys saying it was set for 4096 in 10.5 or another build? I'm running 10 after a complete wipe and the default was set to 128 KB. I've been using SD Speed Increase to adjust the setting. It must modify the setting during each boot, due to the setting stored in a system file.

If this option could be included in the DC Settings app, I'd love to uninstall another app. :)

The read ahead file has 4084 preset. I've wiped and reinstalled a couploe of time and its been the same.

It is hard coded into the rom, as of this point, Im going to reduce the read ahead for build 11, and i'll see about adding an option for it into DCS

settings>applications>gallery

clear gallery data

then go to SD Card and delete the 'Android' folder, then open the folder where your photos are stored, usually DCIS unless you have them somewhere else, and delte the .thumbnails folder, and also the 100andro folder, the gallery app stores some info relating to pictures on the SD Card and i've seen the issue before with that causing issues on a new ROM, so I can promise you that is the problem and why your having issues..

clearing gallery data may or maynot clear the folders from the SD Card, i can't remember because with each ROM flash i delete those folders just to be sure i don't have any problems, not a bad habbit to get into to.. :)

Is anyone experiencing a problem where you go into the picture gallery and your albums load so you click on one only to see a couple pictures loaded. It takes a while to load each picture or sometimes they wont load. Tried clearing data on camera and fxcamera don't know what else to try to fix the issue. Is this a sign of SD card failure? Hope someone can help.

It's hard coded to 4048, check the init.rc file. You can see the value the phone booted with in /sys/devices/virtual/bdi/179:0/read_ahead_kb

Hi all. I haven't tried this ROM yet but am looking forward to it. Since build 10 is the latest beta does that mean 9 is the latest stable version?

Assie that now. My "default" was likely set by the app I use to modify the setting. I had configured it myself, but never restored the app data after wiping. I assumed the stock Android setting was what I was seeing.

Nope, they're all betas. We're just getting to stay updated with this rom while it's being developed. I'd think everyone who's used it, though would agree they are all very stable. :)

Most stable I've used!

Don't let the beta tag scare you. These roms are solid. A great group of devs work on this and they do a heck of a job.

The scroll in the notification bar is fine, but when I pull the notification bar down, I only see the icon for the specific notification, email, gmail, package install etc., but the text that used to show up to the right of the icon doesn't appear. I assume the text setting is set to white or something so I can't see it. I've tried all the settings, I think, and set them to black but must have missed it. Any help? Thanks.

Anyone? Is there no text following the icon? Thanks.

You need to adjust the notification ticker color.

Edit: if I could only read. Let me check, it's not the ticker you are taking about. Please hold.
It's the ongoing or latest notifications.

Sometimes you need to reboot. That's where "Root Tools" hot reboot comes in handy.

Oddly enough I had re-booted just before reading your post and low and behold there the notifications were. I hadn't thought to re-boot. Thanks.
