[ROM] [ROM] Droid Concepts Froyo Releases [BETA versions]

Hi guys...I just installed DC for the first time. So far so good. But I do have one issue. Hitting the Home button does nothing at all, whether I am in an app or on a screen other than the home screen. I have to either hit the back button repeatedly to exit an app or swipe to return to the home screen from another.

I've tried fixing this in the LP "Behavior Settings" screen and in the main phone settings but no luck. Anyone have an idea what's wrong?

Sounds like you forgot to flash the google apps package located in th OP. Need to flash that directly after rom install

I had no idea at all that the Home key function was tied into the gapps package. Nice to learn something new :). Is this a Droid Concepts specific thing? I recall being able to flash sapphire without gapps and the actual phone functions worked, obviously just without any google integration.

Thanks!
Tonight I am going to go back to one of my backups to see if the problem persists. If not, I'll try reflashing DC AND google apps.

The rom dev decides whether or not include averything as a whole. In this particular case woodyman the developer prefers to post them seperate. Also in conjunction to his preferences i do the same with my themes

I understand why there are seperate .zips for gapps and for the rom.. I was asking whether or not the Home key function was tied into the gapps somehow. Maybe I read your post wrong?

Yes the home key function depends upon something in the gapps package not exactly sure what but ive experienced the same issue. and every time i had forgot to flash the gapps then once i did the issues were resolved

It must be something to do with Droid Concepts specifically, because, as I said before, in the past with Sapphire the home key function worked fine with or without the gapps package installed. Interesting nonetheless though :).

Couldnt tell you. All i know is for this rom it needs to be flashed after rom install. Its possible that in sapphire whaterver it is dependent upon was moved to the main rom file already. Or the gapps were all included in one download i dont know for sure never used sapphire

Updated Gapps/Google Music

This is pretty cool - wondered whether I could remove unneeded apps and update the apks for ones released since the latest release of rom or gapps.

Worked - updated gmail, maps, street, music and market all installed on the rom.

Does appear that I ate into my active available free space on the droid but otherwise all is working well.

Glad to hear. I find it useful to take the rom on my pc and use a file archiving program such as 7zip and remove certain apps that i would later delete from
/system anyway..then flash the rom

Sounds like you don't have read permissions on the card somehow. Not possible? Either that or the card's going out. Maybe it's just corrupted and data can be recovered if that's the case.

I'd try backing up everything you can from your pc through a reader. If you don't have one, try booting into recovery and mounting SD that way. ContractorSlim was having problems with his SD and there was some discussion starting about here with some good recovery software mentioned by Woody and me. Don't forget your nandroid backups, though I'd get photos and other personals first. I don't know how to backup Apps2SD files from SD, anyone?

Djakese, thanks. I booted into recovery mount my SD nothing so I unmount then enable mass storage then it showed up. I disabled mass storage and reboot. Viola everything loaded.
