[ROM][DROID2] ApeX V2.0.0 Release Candidate (RC2) (6/12/2011)

Didn't know that about the keyboard, thanks Fab! (although, for as long as I've been using Android, I feel like I should have known that... :P)

Thanks for putting this in ROM Manager btw. That's one thing I miss about having my Evo--all the ROMs in ROM Manager. Any chance of supporting the update functionality?

After about a days use, I absolutely love this ROM.

The only issue I've noticed is that some apps (specifically NHL Gamecenter 2010, and G4) aren't showing up in the market.

Anyone know of a fix to this?

This is exactly what I've been looking for in regards to ROMs for the Droid 2.. Ever since Fission development stopped I didn't think we'd see another as-close-to-AOSP-as-possible ROM for this phone to carry us over to the Gingerbread era and beyond. Everyone seemed to be in love with the "Blur + a few AOSP apps" mindset in their ROMs. I didn't use Apex before simply because it included some Blur stuff, but this changes everything.

I know I speak for more than just myself when I say thank you so much for this!

Go here
Index of /jrummy/testing

Click fix.apk to download and put on your phone where you can find it. Restart phone in clockwork, then install zip from sd card/choose zip from sdcard/find file and select/reboot.

They should show up. Hope this helps :)

Thanks for the help, I downloaded the fix.apk and when I went to install it in clockwork, it didn't show up in the folder I placed it in (after choosing install zip from sd card).

I tried changing the file name to fix.zip and then installing in clockwork, but the install didn't work, and I had to do a battery pull to reboot.

Any idea where I went wrong?

Sorry I got my links mixed up... If you prefer to install things through clockwork you can get the zip file here MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service. If you want to use the file you already downloaded just go into File Mangager and find where you placed this file and you should be able to install it like you would an app from the Market. Make sure that you have the box checked next to the Unknown Sources in your Application Settings (Settings/Applications) Hope this one works for you. Again, my apologies for leading you wrong the first time....Longggg day ;P

Don't worry about the mix up, my next guess was to install it as a .apk, I just figured I'd check with you before I did it. The installation of the .apk did the trick. Thanks again for the help, it is much appreciated.

Anytime, glad I could help :)

This is an excellent ROM BTW. Thanks for showing us remaining Droid 2 users some love Fab :) The installable removed apps seem to work great also, very simple to use.

I came to APEX from ZombieStomped, and I'd say battery life is about the same. For me, that's a good thing lol I'm at 70% after a days worth of light to moderate use (sent some texts, downloaded a few apps, read some articles, etc.)

just so i know i understand this correctly.... so my google account isnt going to sync all my apps back through the market like it did on apex 2 beta? so the only way to restore everything is through titanium??? jus wanna be sure b4 i do more work than i have to...

None of my apps were restored. A bit disappointing, but small price to pay for such a fantastic ROM.

Just a heads up for anyone that uses Fancy Widget Pro, it doesn't seem to load from the Market after moving to the new ROM. The free version does...but not Pro. Make sure to back it up before wiping.
