[ROM] Liberty Gingerbread v0.4 - Return of the Eagle

Okay, going to take the plunge...Just purchased the the Liberty Toolbox Donate (well worth the $5 to make for an easy transition into Gingerbread)!

Just want to make sure I do this right the first time (I don't usually flash ROMs):

Is this path correct?

I'm currently on Liberty v1.5 and I've downloaded both the Liberty Gingerbread v0.1 Full Install and the Liberty Gingerbread v0.5 w/kernal included.

I plan on booting into CWM and wiping data/factory reset and wiping cache and wiping dalvik.

I will then flash v0.1.

This is where I'm not 100% sure. Should I flash v0.5 right after v0.1 (re-wiping everything listed above) or should I actually boot up in v0.1 first and then use Liberty Toolbox to reboot and flash v0.5?

Probably a really silly question...Right now, I plan on flashing v0.5 right after v0.1 without rebooting...

Any thoughts?

Couldn't wait for a response...Took the plunge as I mentioned above (without booting into v0.1 first). Everything worked great!

I'm rockin' v0.5 now and loving it!

Why did you install v0.1 first?

If I go to GB and i don't like it, will a clockwork backup restore me to liberty 2.01 or do I have to sbf back and start all over?

Yes ur the best..
Also r u going to update this for .591? or ur just keeping it on .588? also did u get the tethering working last time i checked it was not working?

.591 is in Liberty Toolbox Donate. Droid 2 version still needs to be done for .591. We will continue working on that base and most likely not update bases again unless it is an official release (after talking w/ p3droid).

I will look into tethering. I don't use it myself but I will see what I can do. In the meantime this might work: Wi-fi tether for gingerbread. 588 (see post #2)

Aight. so now i have to go back to .588 lol again thanks and for the tethering thanks for that find ill check that out.
Again bro nice job.

So what was the result? I'm on liberty 2.0.1 and run the TBH patch, wi-fi hotspot works great. I've only used it once for all of about 10 minutes in the 8 months I've had this phone, but although I don't really use it I'm not making the switch to LGB unless I know I can have wireless tether working. So do any of you have it working and if so what steps did you take?

Hey guys - I hit some major snags trying v.05 this afternoon. I'm on the .591 rooted GB leak (no custom ROM) and downloaded the donate toolbox. I went into the ROM Manager and installed the v.05, backing up my ROM and wiping data. I booted into Liberty no problem, but then I went into the market to try and get TB, D2 bootstrapper, and the Liberty Toolbox to get rolling in full, but nothing would download from the market. I just kept getting "download unsuccessful". I couldn't open text nessages either - it would snap closed immediately after opening. Now, I'm an LPP guy - never really got down with ADW, so I made LPP my default launcher. Is that the problem? As I couldn't install bootstrap, I couldn't boot into CWM. I did a battery pull and was able to flash back to my backup of rooted GB .591.

Any ideas?

I went from V0.1 to V0.5 with no factory wipe and it worked with no problems.

I was under the impression that v0.1 was the only full install into Gingerbread as I was on Froyo still. If not, I guess I just made more work for myself.

Liberty Gingerbread v0.5

I'm on 2.01 and it runs great. I also have liberty settings donate. Can I just use that to install the latest nightly to make the transition to GB or are there things i must do prior to installing the latest nightly?

Do you have to install certain versions of this prior to upgrading to 0.5?

Thank you

I guess there might be a little debate on this, but my method worked great for me, no problems (v0.1 to v0.5) - see my earlier posts in this thread.

Liberty Gingerbread v0.5

I need to know howtogo to. 5 from 2.01 and if a clockwork restore can put me back. On froyoif I have problems. M

EMAIL buttons not active

installed Liberty ROM v.4 and the email buttons (REPLY, reply all, etc) don't work, need to hit the options button to call them up.

i'm a newbie, and i'm a little confused, i assumed v.4 is newer than the 2.1, but the change from 2.1 to v.4 scared me a little.

anyway, i got it all working, email, phone, etc and hopefully the button functionality won't be too far behind. Its better now (my DX used to freak out, buttons would self push, screen would wiggle and be non responsive - all gone)..

THANKS.
I've purchased the various paid versions to support and thanks again.

Holy battery life! Down to 86% after 12 hours of regular use! LGB v0.5 is freakin awesome!

Bootlooped the first time I tried, but then I realized I forgot to wipe my data. Once I did that, it worked like a charm! Best $5 ever spent!

Clockwork will NOT bring you back to froyo, you would have to sbf back. To get to the latest liberty gb first download and install v.01 to bring you to gingerbread then u can go from there.

I'm on 2.01 and when I look at nighlies (I paid for Liberty Settings) I only have options for 0.1 and 0.3. Is 0.5 in the paid liberty app?
