Yeah, you can't get better than cm7 at the moment.

Anytime Logic. Happy to help. I know you pick stuff up quick so I'm not worried about you at all. Enjoy!

Can't get faster than cm7 at the moment. Maybe. Better overall, I would have to disagree.

CM7 is being developed, thats a plus. Things here seem at a standstill, with little communication from the people making Liberty. Makes people worried.

I'm not trying CM until it gets 720p video (unless this has been implemented recently?) and the battery life gets on par with Liberty. I'm thinking about switching from LGB 0.9 to Darkslide X though.

Anyone know how to install the new market .apk on Liberty v.08?

I dl'ed the .apk for the new market but it won't install for me and I'm running Liberty v.08. Yes I am allowing apps from unknown sources. Anyone else have this problem? Anyone else try to install this apk? Any help would be appreciated.

So after months of telling myself that Liberty looked really great, I have decided to take the plunge tonight. I have had my DX since January, been rooted with Z4 for most of that time, but this is my first time installing a Rom. I never did the GB OTA, so I am still on 2.3.340. I went to Droidlife, got both parts of the rooted GB and have them on my SD card. I already backed up SMS and apps, getting ready to use D2 Bootstrap to install GB. Does it matter if I do the app backup before or after upgrading to GB? I would guess not but I want to make sure.

Thanks, and can't wait to spend the rest of my night enjoying Liberty!

Definitely back up first because you'll be wiping the phone clean before installing gb. You will lose all apps and data, so definitely before. Then boot into clockwork, wipe data, cache and dalvik. (I like to mount system here, but it may not be necessary). Then install the 2 part gb zip. Then reboot.

Yeah, you want to do the backup first b/c you have to wipe data when going from froyo to LGB. Always do your backups first, then procede.

Thanks for the reassurance that I was thinking along the right path. Will report back soon, hopefully with a fully functional LGB install.
