[ROM] MinimalX

I seem to be having same problem. I actually installed v6 and SD Speed and still have problem. Tried rebooting to no avail. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Well after installing those two and rebooting the problem went away for me. I wish I would have made a logcat (if that's even possible on this phone) so that we would have a better idea of what's happening. If you are still having the problem try searching logcat on the market and see if you can capture what happens when the contacts list pops up and then send that to the developer. The only other thing I can think of is maybe doing a battery pull?

Thanks for the quick response. I reinstalled supercharger and rebooted, and problem seems gone. I will try to do a battery pull if that doesn't work.

Bad news. It's still happening after battery pull. Maybe I'll have to reinstall. Any suggestions before I do that?

Thanks!

Generally, about how often does it pop up?

Also, did you do a data wipe prior to installing? I ask, because it may be something related and would be easier for me to troubleshoot.

I'm sorry you're having problems, but thank you very much for the feedback.

It mainly does it when the screen is going to time out. Right before it screen turns off. Yes, I did a data wipe/factory reset before installing. I already had removed some bloatware myself prior to installing. I'll try sbf'ing back to stock and then install minimalx again. I don't mind the challenge and am grateful this is out. Thanks for your prompt response.

Hmm, I'm wondering why the screen timeout could possibly conflict with the applications. Please let me know if SBFing and re-flashing over stock fixes the problem. Thanks for your willingness to thoroughly test this for me. All previous testing of this ROMs public release was done solely by me.

You saved me! I've been having nightmare problems with my phone the past few days and I thought I had a bum handset. After finally giving in and flashing my first ROM, everything worked fine again and I was happy. I love it!

A few questions though since I'm such a noob...first, whenever you release updates to the ROM, does it have to be completely re-flashed? Like, do we start over setting up the phone from scratch each time? That would make me a sad panda.

Also, would running the supercharge script mess with anything, or does the ROM really not have much to do with that (goes with the noob thing)?

And...the visual voicemail app that comes with the phone, is there any way to get an .apk of that or something? Google Voice isn't cooperating. :(

Thanks again for your hard work, this thing is awesome and saved me from more of that horrific headache!

I'm glad you're finding such enjoyment with this ROM! :)

Future updates of this ROM will need to be re-flashed, but whether or not data needs wiped will be dependent on the situation. I'm sorry, no one enjoys seeing a sad panda. The best I can do to turn that frown upside down is to recommend a back up application via the market. These applications can backup and restore all applications and cached settings in this application. My personal favorite is Titanium Backup, but also realize that there is a pro version that is not free.

As for the supercharger script, I'm getting mixed reports of it improving performance, and also it bogging down the system. My future plan is to test a multitude of settings to see which cooperates best with this ROM and bake them in -- in other words, you won't have to worry about installing the script yourself.

Vvm.apk has been removed, but I just recently updated my original post with a .zip link to download system applications and odex files. You can manually restore necessary files to meet your needs. In the future, I plan on adding an option to restore necessary files via a market application or directly through the ROM.

Thank you very much for the support and feedback. I'm glad this ROM is bringing enjoyment to users.

This also may be my last post for the day. Depending on how the weather turns, I'm probably going to head out to the lake for a few hours.

Have a good day everyone, and please continue posting feedback.

The random contacts issue is back for me. Will see if I can get a log.

Is it also occurring for you during time out? Any information would be extremely helpful... And a log would be even more helpful. Thanks!

Has nothing to do with time out for me. Started happening before even installing any apps. Not sure yet what triggers it.

Have two logs taken after the contacts list opens. Will send them to you.

I am curious how you were able to get those read/write speeds on your SD card. I bought a Patriot brand 16gb MicroSD Class 10 and formatted it as FAT32 64kb and can't break 10MB/s on either. Of the several AnTuTu benchmarks I have run I am averaging around 6MB write and 9MB read.

Thanks

I just bought 2 Patriot Flash Drives, the XT xporter and the XT Rage both 16gb.

On the Xporter im getting 29mb read and 13.9mb write.

The Rage is slightly better with 29mb read and 16mb write.

That is on the ATTO benchmark. And they are fast when transferring files.
