[ROM]One small step for man one giant leap for --- Liberty 1.5 2/2/2011

New to Liberty

I've previously had Tranquility and Apex on my DX but holy #$%^ this thing is smokin fast. Wow wow wow!

Just a few quick questions:

Is it possible to have a lock screen (either rotary or normal swipe) coupled with a secure pattern lock? I enabled the pattern lock and that comes up every time.

I've had a few issues with corrupt themes being downloaded from the Liberty Toolbox. Is that because the the servers are getting hammered with the release today?

After a few reboots, Facebook and Twitter appeared. I didn't notice them originally in the Rom and I had to uninstall them via Root Explorer since they couldn't be uninstalled via the standard app uninstall method? Are they part of a theme or did they come with Liberty and I just didn't notice?

Thanks.

i need help. the boot logo image of the eagle and liberty thing keeps spinning and wont start up. i tried installing one of the fonts from the toolbox

That happened to me because I didnt factory restore before installing. I sbf'd and then reinstalled after doing a factory install.

Has anyone got TBH's 3g hot spot app to work on this?

Flashed the zip but don't see it in my app drawer...

I just installed it from the toolbox (mynet) and the app showed up in the drawer and it appears to be working. That's all I did...no hack from tbh.

Hey guys the thread is getting very interesting and im debating on when to down load. Im coming from darkslide, and considering how much I love that rom, my curiosity is being tickled by this tool box idea.
Question: does the tool box have the blackout blue theme in it for 1.5?
2) I've never used a tool box is there some type of explanation on how to use, and do you have to install from the market?

Go ahead and give Liberty a try. Just make a backup of Darkslide and you can always go back in a few minutes. I'm about to try 1.5 coming from Darkslide also... One thing that has me going back to Darkslide every time is the sensitivity of the keyboard. Typing is much nicer for me with Darkslide than ANY other rom. The letter P is a problem with most roms because of the sensitivity but it's not with Darkslide on my phone.

Actually I must say that the keyboard in 1.5 is plenty sensitive enough which makes me very happy.

WOW!!! YOUR UP AND Running.......now you got me amp!!!!!everything went flawless?

Liberty is actually better than Darkslide because it will actually sync you contact photos with your Messaging app.. and you won't have to stare at an ugly gray box.

Yay!!

I have been waiting for this!!! Thanks Liberty team! I will definetely be downloading and installing tonight after work and I will be making a donation to your team!!!

Great job guys!!!

Loving Liberty 1.5. Thanks a lot.

I do have a few questions...

1) I am coming from Liberty 1.0. Before installing 1.5, I did a data wipe and factory reset several times from Clockwork Recovery. I then installed 1.5 from zip. Oddly enough, most of my settings seemed to have been retained. I don't think they're causing problems, but I am looking for an explanation. Very strange. An example: my home wireless settings remained intact. Applications, however, did not remain.

2) Next question: How does the Liberty App Restore work? I had indeed backed up my apps using Liberty 1.0. When I set Apps to restore on Reboot in the Spare Part settings, this did not work. I had to manually restore using the Liberty Toolbox.

3) Beginner question here... Where the heck are system wallpapers stored? How can I browse out using File Explorer and locate them?

Thanks for the help, guys.

Best ROM and I am sticking with it.

I have a couple half assed answers (the best I can do)

1) My wireless setting were retained too. I found that very weird.

2) Titanium backup is most peoples app backup of choice. I believe the liberty 1.0 backup is meant for use in liberty 1.0. As in, you can restore apps if you lose them within 1.0. Wiping all data would (I think) wipe the backup you did in 1.0.

3) Long press on homescreen -> wallpaper

Thanks for all the hard work but I'm hitting some bugs.

1. When I try to install the gingerbread keyboard from the toolbox, it freezes and reboots.

2. When the phone boots, I have the boot animation as the default android one, the android logo is a yellow box is doing the flashing animation that the default logo does

This was after a full delete + cache wipe and a 100% fresh install.

2) I thought Liberty backed the apps up to the SD card.

3) I know how to set wallpaper, but wondering how to actually browse out to where they are stored on the system.

Thanks for your help!
