[ROM] Rumm Rx v1.0 - First dose of awesomeness ;)

Had to fix permissions with rom manager to fix force closes. Had to use jrummys root tools to make backup/restore my apps. But now the rom is running like a charm.

Ok, I am a bit lost.

I was last on Apex v1.0, which was 2.3.15, I was still on Bootloader 30.01.
I then installed the 2.2.1-miscupdate linked in the instructions.
My bootloader was 30.04 then. And the update is installed and running fine.

So if I want to switch roms for now (trust me I'll be back if the kinks get ironed out, this is sick so far) Can I already go to ones that require the leak? or should I go to ones that work coming from 2.3.15?

What am I on now? if I'm on the leak, how? what was in that miscupdate.zip file?

I am trying to go to fission for now, but.... don't know if I can. I want to be able to SBF back to 2.3.15, and if that misc update file ruined those chances, then I'll be a bit mad. If so that should have been stated.

If not, we're cool :P

Someone let me know if I can get on fission successfully for now.

Congratulations, you've installed the 2.3.320 Leak if you followed the first 1/2 of the install instructions for the ROM. That Misc Patch contains the bootloader which upgrades your bootloader to 30.04

How do I know if I even have 2.3.1.5 or whatever it is. I have had my x since it came out. I was on 2.1 and rooted. Installed rom manager. When the 2.2 came out I updated from there but have never updated again. Running rubix 1.8.6 . Just not sure if I'm 2.3.1.5 or older.
Help. Lol

You are on 23.15...%100 percent for sure or u would be having serious issues with RubiX. 8.6.
If you follow instructions in first post that the newer leak.

Has Jrummy made an appearance here yet? Love the battery life of this ROM but there are a lot of "issues". Just wondering if there is an update in the works? Would like to know what the author is up to, back to Focused for me, looking forward to the update that is supposed to fix my battery issues. For now I have to carry cord with me everywhere. I will definitely be watching this one though.

So I have a tale of woe....

I was on Apex v1.0 Which is 2.3.15 if I recall. I was still on BL 30.01.

I decided to go to Rummy, and followed the instructions for NOT being on the leak, which included the 2.2.1miscupdate.zip file. This updated my bootloader, which I didn't expect, but oh well, so far no issues.

Booted into Rummy with no issues, aside from those reported here. The dialer was the deal breaker for me, for now. So I decided to go to Fission. Not before trying a custom boot logo.

I installed it, again, no issues.

I saw that some Jrummy stuff was left over even though I had wiped system, cache, and data. Specifically the ERI notification text stayed. And my Fission said Rummy Rx 1.0 on it. Not so cool.

So I deleted the jrummy folder on root (or was it in /data?) and rebooted. Uhoh, boot animation loop...

Well dang, at this point I decide to reflash the Fission 2.2.2 rom and hope that helps.

Well I no longer had the 2.2.2 zip on my SD card, So, from Clockworkmod, which was working, I turned off my phone, and used an SD adapter to my PC to put the file back on, SD back in phone, ... cant get back into clockwork recovery!!! WTF? Well.... Crap I dont even know what version I was on because of that weird little half update thing I installed for Rummy. I think it was a 2.2.1 of some sort? I am on 30.04 boot loader, but only kind of on the leak, or maybe not at all?

Oh crap now I am stuck at the M, stock recovery wont load and gives me bootloader screen with error messages, regular bootloader key combo gets me to the same screen without error codes.

Ok, so I get 2.3.30 Recovery only sbf, and ok, now I have the recovery. But wiping doesnt help anything.

Lets try 2.3.32 system only SBF...

Boy I sure do wish my bootloader hadn't been updated without me knowing it was going to be... Then I could just go back to 2.1 and start over. Worst thing is, I changed my boot logo, meaning if I take it to VZW as a brick they will be able to tell I ficked with it.

I'm probably out 500 bucks, but lets see how this system only sbf goes...

UPDATE:
OH MY GOD GOOD LUCK! For once I am COMPLETELY and totally grateful to TBH. Though who knows if their leaks in some fashion may have cause this...

In any case. BE CAREFUL WITH THAT 2.2.1misc-update file! I wouldn't do it unless you REALLY want to.

Guys, I know there are some issues in the build BUT this is (from what I can tell) JRummy's first crack at a rom for the DX, and for it being version 1, I thinks it's very good! To compare it to RubiX is not fair, based on how many versions on that rom (which is also awesome) there are. Let's support JRummy and all these great peeps who have made us feel like we have new devices every week!

I never did you update just loaded the rom and have had no problems with anything. Plus it was before the new version that was made for non leakers. The rom is great only thing that didn't work for me is quadrant standard but I use my linpack score to compare with my other roms so its really not that big of deal to me. I do like the live wallpaper hack you included though keep up the good work man! And again thanks for the overclock app! I've had it since it came out and im glad I don't have to write all that code anymore!

How to have all your apps installed on first install:

1) Make a folder on your sdcard in /sdcard/rumm_rx/restore_apps

2) Place all your apps in that directory and install the ROM

reboot

Call me slow, but how and where do you move the apps from???

thanks

I don't know...I didn't download this yesterday because when I read his OP it was relatively clear to me that this would bring me to the leak version. Maybe people just read it too fast in there excitement and missed it (so not likely all Jrummys fault here)...in any event I'm sorry for all those who did have problems. There is a leak SBF available so make sure you get it...it will likely save you some cash if you run into trouble. And above all dont go to any ROM that uses 2.3.15 anymore. There are only a couple of ROMs that use the leak so you still have options (Rubix (get the correct version, tranquility 3.5(i think that is the right one), and the new Apex, I dont know about Fission) It looks like the install instructions have changed since yesterday and it is nice and clear now. Again, truly sorry for people who had problems =( and I hope this helps some of you avoid issues going forward.

Love this rom but my photo gallery will not open, it just force closes. Anyone else have this problem and is there a fix?

Not a problem here.

Just curious, why hasn't anyone posted the system sbf with a download link? Maybe there is one that I'm not aware of, I just noticed that alot of us are wanting it "just in case" but its one on one basis. Reguardless, would it be possible for me to get the sbf as well. I root alot of my friends phones and constantly flash roms. It would help me sleep a little easier at night: )

Thats because the dozen or so links that have been posted have been removed by Motorola.

GMB

Exactly which is why I posted pages back if anyone needs the /system only SBF shot me a PM. I have a link to it but will not post it do to the fact it will be taken down in a matter of no time.

I've also got a link to the TBH Blur_2.3.320 *.zip if anyone needs/wants it. Just be specific when you shot me a PM which file you are after.

I was wondering the same thing.

Oh and this rom is running amazing for me so far. I had a few issues with power amp but fixed those with build props. I played with my calendar and did not see any fc's
