[ROM] [ROM] SHIFT3R 2.3.1 TPaX (11/06/2011)

I'm having an issue with 3g speeds after flashing the base ROM. I flashed the Blurry Xoom themed zip on top of the base and am still having the 3g issue.

My typical 3g speeds before flashing (I was running stock with a webtop mod zip flashed... no adapter required) were around 600 kbps down and 100-200 kbps up. Now my 3g speeds are around 170 kbps down and 25-60 kbps up. Big difference.

4g speeds are still great. Same as they used to be (around 10,000 kbps down and 1,200 kbps up).

Has anyone seen this slow-3g issue before or have an idea for why it may be happening (or a solution to fix it)?

Thanks in advance!

I think if 4G is ok then its just sig from Tower

If Im not changing the kernel or radio then you get the benifits 893 without being on it. Im not sure about signal but I know the camera works better has to be Base

Whatever was done to better the camera it has nothing to do with the kernel. Droidtheory probably fixed some bugs in the camera apk but he's already stated some camera fixes have to be in the .893 kernel because its hard to pin the camera issuen solely on a poorly written apk, but I assure you you will not get any .893 benefits without first updating using the ota update. That's a fact until the bootloader is unlocked. Youre probably one of the few who never had any signal or battery issues to begin with on .886.

I'd have to agree. As droidtheory told me when I lost 4G after flashing the rom can't touch or do anything to your radio due to the locked bootloader so there's basically no chance its the rom. It wasn't the rom that made me lose 4G either.

You might can update through the app itself. Very bottom in settings I think you can download the latest beta.

Edit: actually it's the first option in extras.

Verizon stated that there will be data issues after DST. Pull your battery, pull your SIM and boot the phone up. Wait until is tells you to insert a SIM. Pull the battery, put you SIM back in and boot it ip. Give iy a minute. That will force the network to update.

:)

Think I got it now I thought I had the sig problem when I was in Wisconsin but I wasnt even on a Verizon tower (extended network) I live in Illinois around Ohara air port strong 4G area since getting back from Wi The most I have traveled is about 30 miles in one direction. It did switch from 4G to 3G then back again no problem. Wondering how I got to be the lucky one that doesnt have the problem thats not my luck lol

Yep I've seen these too in other apps or screen. Hopefully it get's cleaned up a bit in next release. Other than that I'm loving the ROM. Great work.

Has anyone seen a solution to this problem? Or do we have to wait until the pax is updated?

Have you flashed the 2.3.1 TPAK? The B on B is fixed in the ROM.

I really dont have any control over 3rd party apps not playing nice. :)

Curious, how long until the message pops up? I waited 5 minutes for it and nothing happened.

Yes I'm on the new 2.3.1. I see this in contacts as well when you click a name and try to select the number to dial.
