[ROM] The Eagle Has Landed!!!! - Liberty 1.0 1/11/11

I am considering loading Liberty Rom onto my X, but is it ABSOLUTELY necessary to wipe everything when you load it? I REALLY don't want to have to re-install all of my apps.

Also, are there any minor/major bugs with it? Since my cell phone is my primary phone, I can not afford for it not to work.

Hi guys,
I just loaded the new rom everything went well until I went to boot it after installing, now it just looping the boot animation constantly. Any ideas?

You need to wipe data/cache.
--Power off
--Hold the HOME button down while powering back up, it'll take you to the Android recovery menu (lil' droid with a ! in a triangle).
--When you see that screen, press the SEARCH button on the phone to take you to the menu.
--From the menu, wipe cache, data, and reboot.

That will get you into Liberty.
Unfortunately, wiping data AFTER installing liberty wipes a ton of settings from Liberty. You will want to go back and reinstall Liberty again to get them back.. no need to wipe this time... just follow the rest of the instructions in the first post.

Do you need to wipe:
YES (otherwise, expect boot loops or worse).

Are there bugs:
YES (There are bugs with EVERY ROM out, as well as Stock MotoBlur... it's got it's share of nasty ones, most directly related to the crappy blur apps.

It's completely preference. Only thing I can suggest.. is once you have the bootstrapper app loaded, make sure you get a good backup (reboot into bootstrap, and go to backup & Restore from the menu, and get a good backup! Once you have a backup, you can always get back to that... which minimizes the risks of trying new ROMs!
(The backup is held in /sdcard/Clockworkmod/backup).

Hope that helps a little... Custom ROMs are very very nice. and if there wasn't an advantage to running a ROM, people wouldn't run them...

Anyone know how to Skin/theme/change the color of Icons? Im using the Gingerbread theme and having some app Icons in that green would look really nice with my setup.

go to market download metamorph, then head on over to droidpirate.com & get any flavor of icon you want. Before you start playing NANDROID

Wipe everything! Thats the trick to making it work. Google & titanium backup will have your apps restored in minutes. no big deal. but YES wipe cache, data/ reset, & wipe dalvik before you flash Liberty & then youll be on the road to sweetness...

droidpirate says to use Bettercut? does it really matter or is Metamorph used for custom roms?

Downloaded Liberty Toolbox update from Marketplace several times still getting force close in settings toolbox. Please help I do want to be able to keep up with updates. Thanks

anybody else have an issue with exchange 2010 on email app in liberty?
works fine, on fission, no go on liberty. only thing stopping me from moving over to liberty.

You have a few options when it comes to apps, a lot if not all of them will reinstall themselves but I reccomend turning on wifi as it automatically downloads them from the market. Or you could get titanium and backup your apps. Don't forget to backup your contacts as well. It will all be worth it when your running liberty.

@yukmizzee I don't believe it is...only hitting 588KB/s Any chance you can get hack to work with this ROM?

Here you go, install via clockwork as you would any other .zip package.
sorry for the dumb question, but how do you install a .zip package? I know how to install roms, but not this. Thank you for any replies.

IF the zip package is an installer .zip package, you install it just like a ROM... only no need to wipe data/cache.

Hi All,

Had a weird issue just happen with this rom. I was watching a movie in ACT 1, and 3 minutes into the video my phone froze and rebooted. When it came back up, the phone seemed to almost locked. I got an error message saying system was hanging to Force Close or Wait. I hit wait, and the phone just shut off.

Any thoughts on that?
