[ROM] The Eagle Has Landed!!!! - Liberty 1.0 1/11/11

Is there any reason to use any calendar other than jorte?

I use Android Agenda Widget Plus, but it is unable to grab the events from the calendar framework after a while. Then when I try to open the actual calendar and view my synced calendars, the calendar framework crashes on me.

So long story short, I don't use Jorte because I don't need to :). Unless it lets me add birthdays to my contacts, I don't think I need it ;-)

Problem solved with a reinstall... must have been a setting in the toolbox that it didn't like (clear cache or data or something)

I have a couple quick questions about themes. First, if I install a theme and decide that I dont like it how do I go back to just straight liberty with no themes? Do I just make a backup in clockwork recovery and restore it or do I have to flash the rom again? Also If I want to change themes is it ok to just apply one theme over another?

Just use the original rom update.zip don't have to wipe data/cache.

Didn't realize that. Thought you had to flash a backup made prior to installing the theme. Good to know.

Either will work.

If you have other changes (throttle hack, or other /system apps installed, etc.) then re-installing over the top will revert everything to stock Liberty... so nandroid backup might be preferable... Both will get you back to a clean unthemed liberty, just via different methods.

I can't believe that this rom does everything I have ever wanted to do without having to work for it. This is fantastic! I wish the evil empire would take a lead from the Android developers out there that produce this kind of functionality. Go Team!

i had to restore my X to a back up then i reinstalled liberty, do i have to re install the throttle hack?

Yup. It is not installed by default.

I know this was brought up in gummyjar before, but I can't remember if there is a workaround.

Is there any way to get the pattern lock to show after the normal slider lock? Is there anyway to set a lock timer so that a pin lock doesn't show up unless my phone's been off for move that X minutes?

Thanks...

Pull battery and replace. Hold down the home button and power until you get the droid triangle with an exclamation mark. Then hit the search button. This will get you to stock recovery to clear caches or wipe.

OR, plug the phone in and power on. This usually brings it into clockwork recovery.

Right on mcp770, that was exactly what another thread told me: i freaked and posted everywhere.
it worked extremely well. althogh the plug in and power on suggestion is new, ill have to try that next time...hopefully there is no next time, but these ROMS are so much fun
thanks tho!!!

What is data throttling and how does it work?
It works like this:
You get a shiney new smartphone that "does"
You get the unlimited data plan so that you can "do"
The man, says that unlimited isn't really unlimited
but they don't really tell you that part
If you use more data than "the man" likes, they start to slow you down

So basically on an unlimited data plan, if you go over 5gb of usage per month, you get throttled (they slow down your connection). This can also be the case in congested metropolitan areas (like D.C.).

By removing the throttle, you are not letting your android phone accept "the man's" terms of the slow down, and you can run at full capacity all the time.
