Yes, i went from full to clean and notice a slight speed increase. nothing notable in linpack or quadrant (but i don't take much stock in them anyways), but just an overall increase. Worth it not to see bloat also.

Use Droid Root Manager to copy the APK to the /system/app directory, then set permissions to match the other apps.

If you don't have Droid Root Explorer yet, get it.

I have a strange situation.... I am not able to flash this rom....

I've been on the clean rom 2.4 and the other day I messed up going to 2.5 and had to sbf.

I got back to my 2.4 from a backup and now after several attempts am not able to get to 2.5. The first time I thought it was a fluke, but I just now re-downloaded the new 2.5 clean file and no go. I follow the instructions to a T and simply end up back at Version 2.4.0.A955 Verizon.en.US

It seems all I am doing is wiping and starting fresh by clearing data and cache.

Through Rom Manager I was able to restore my 2.4 backup but cannot flash a new rom.....

Why?

I watch it during the flashing process and it seems to me to be going too quick. It seems to install WAY too quickly....and it's obviously not doing it.

You sure you are mounting /system and /data in the Mounts menu in CW Recovery before the install? They should say "unmount" after them if they are mounted.

Well Redflea...I can't even believe I have been messing this up so badly. I am surprised I even got what I have flashed if I've been so stupid. I suppose it's a good experience in solving problems...

I would read the original instructions below over and over and I interpreted it as needing it to say "mount". It doesn't say to make sure they are mounted it says they both are "MOUNT". So I figured it it said mount, it was mounted.


"Mount System and Data - Yes double check that both are MOUNT"


Now that I switched them both to "UNMOUNT" it works.... LOL It's not all that funny, but at least now I am on 2.4.5

No problem, and glad it was a simple fix.

Toggle switches like that always cause confusion...they appear read the opposite of the current state...like when you are using a music player and playing a song the Pause icon appears (showing what you can change the state to) rather than the Play icon.

If they don't already, it would probably be a good idea to update the instructions to call out what the mount settings should look like when they are correctly set...

Does the Superclean or Clean ROMS still include the blur contacts app, or do these include a stock android contacts app with the normal facebook contacts syncing functionalities? The contacts are the one thing through blur that I absolutely cannot stand.

I don't think this ROM likes being themed lol
I've tried to different themes and have had to SBF both times because it goes into an unstoppable boot loop and wont' boot into CWR

any ideas guys?

Awesome ROM. I'm currently using the Super Clean version (plus black notification bar) with a few tweaks. I added the Star Wars boot animation from an old 2.4.0 leak. I copied some of the Star Wars wallpapers, notifications, and ringtones from your full Star Wars version. Finally, I added in the Star Wars lock screen sliders. Perfect balance of the speed and clean look of Vanilla, while still retaining some of the Star Wars feel.
