[ROM] Zen-MIUI v2 Android 2.2 + MIUI

Rom is still working great only issue i'm having is tons and tons or redraws and it seems slow to me.. weird when I first flashed MIUI w/o flashing over another rom is was really fast and smooth but since i've flashed it over SS 4.8 been pretty slow and such.. Running slayhers 1.2 kernel..

Any advice?

Just an update for anyone watching the thread, I did get syncmypix to work. It took a few tries. I had to reboot once. Then I had to kill the app with an app killer, but then it finally worked.

Thanks for the info MetickOne. Anyone care to compare the 3 different MIUI Roms out there?

I believe both bgill and metickone are basically just this rom with tweaks....Bgill55's is themed is the big diff. But both are using this as the base for theirs

I asked bgill55 if Zen and him were working together or separately thus doing the same effort. He said he sends his updates to Zen. So I assume that they are the same thing except bgill55 is themed and what not. At least that is my impression.

Mine has the tweaks I usually put in my roms. I removed a ton of apps and added some others. I freed about 15mb of data in system. I also included all the fixes that have been made available here. I also added a few fixes that haven't been looked into too much. I believe bgill also included all of the fixes available and made some tweaks as well. They will probably both run the same but he's got his Incognito setup on there. We're also looking into some fixes that haven't been done yet... Stay tuned for those

Hey bgill55 did you get the market to show the Verzion tab? Sorry if this has been gone over. I'm looking through the build.prop but it's tough since I am doing it on my phone.

Its not a build prop issue I think I replaced it with my and I get the same non Verizon market. Its something else ill find it tonight

Weird. Yeah, I replaced vending and a whole lot of other apps on the mod I'm working on and still no dice.

Any progress on this? this is pretty much the only bug i've found once i got this rom up and running

you got setcpu all set up so that the oc takes? ( stupid question i know but sometimes it's the simple answers that work)

I haven't had hardly any redraws and it has been smooth for me running th stock chevy kernel that comes with...i did add the launcher in memory fix highlighted here LauncherPro Forum • View topic - Fixed Launcher Pro lag when returning to home screen

but even before i did that it was pretty much fine

After posting what I just did I decided to repair my permissions.. did that and went to reboot now i'm stuck at the moto logo.. and I can't get into recovery...

not panic...but if you don't have a nandroid backup you may be stuck having to reflash everything and starting from scratch again....yank your battery then hold x (on the slide out keyboard) and then push the power button and that will get you back to recovery

That's a bit scarier...There are still steps you can take to repair through ADB or through reflashing the boot with RSD ....but I'm not a real source on either...maybe someone in here can help or i'd suggest hitting up the Rescue Forums and see if they can be of more assistance then I

RSD may be able to help you but I'm not sure on the process...they have some walk-throughs on saving bricks in that link put up a couple posts back.

omfg thank you... plugged it in via usb did a battery pull for about a minute and tried it one last time... saw the cyanogen animation and my heart started beating again..

phewwww

so now back to my original question or why its slow for me...

set cpu is set to 900 right now and on demand and i'm using the stock launcher from MIUI

have you tried to wipe your davlik cache? sometimes when you're installing and uninstalling a whole lot it can slow you down until you clear that out

if you wanna give that a shot reboot into recovery and the clear davlik cache option is under the "advanced" menu item

Okay.. it must just be me having a bad day, got it to boot went into rom manager and flashed the recovery a few times to be safe went to boot into it and moto logo stuck again... ughh.

Edit got it to boot again.. thinking about unrooting and starting from scratch.. what do you guys think?
