[ROM] Zen-MIUI v2 Android 2.2 + MIUI

Hey guys, check the op for fixes to your rom issues. Facebook contact sync works if you follow the instructions. The contact pictures do not though. That is a rom issue that we're working on.

This is not entirely true. It will work at first, but if you update the Facebook app to the newest version (or, as in my case, it automatically updates), the sync stops, and the option in Facebook's settings menu goes away. You need to stick with the older version. Something in the newer one breaks it.

omfg thank you... plugged it in via usb did a battery pull for about a minute and tried it one last time... saw the cyanogen animation and my heart started beating again.. :)

phewwww

so now back to my original question or why its slow for me...

set cpu is set to 900 right now and on demand and i'm using the stock launcher from MIUI

have you tried to wipe your davlik cache? sometimes when you're installing and uninstalling a whole lot it can slow you down until you clear that out

if you wanna give that a shot reboot into recovery and the clear davlik cache option is under the "advanced" menu item

Okay.. it must just be me having a bad day, got it to boot went into rom manager and flashed the recovery a few times to be safe went to boot into it and moto logo stuck again... ughh.

Edit got it to boot again.. thinking about unrooting and starting from scratch.. what do you guys think?

Well don't unroot but doing a full wipe of data and cache (maybe do it 2 or 3x to make sure all is clear) and reflash from scratch may not hurt your cause if you're having this many issues

Still won't sync the pictures though. I'm running the old FB in Bgill55s build and it syncs the info but not the picture yet.

Yeah fair enough but right now i'm afraid to try to boot it into recovery.. after all of this.
Got into recovery finally and just cleaned my dalvik cache and now i'm backing up my MIUI when I said unroot I was thinking using rsd to go back to 2.0 or whatever and then starting completely fresh.. i'll decide later need my phone for now :P

Good point.

as in not even rotating when u pull the keyboard out?

Yeah, same here...

This ROM's been like that since the very begining. I think the devs working on getting everything else working as that is more an asthetices issue and not a functionality issue.

Plus you have to take into account this ROM was built for phones without keyboards.

Yeah I know.. not complaining just helping that guy out. Loving this rom it's so great! :)

anyone try to install the new "car home" app from the market. The download fails to install every time for me. Any ideas how to get this new app install??

I just want to state that I've had a lot of luck NOT using SetCPU on this ROM. I am using Chevy's ULV 1.2 GHz but when I run a quadrant test it's slower than most ROMS, which leads me to believe there is some kind of built in CPU clocking in this ROM.

Everything runs buttery smooth without SetCPU, my battery life is great, and the back of my phone has been cool to the touch since I installed Miui.

So IMO, no need for SetCPU with this ROM.

That problem occurs when you are trying to install an update to a system file that was previously only updated via system updates and not available into the market. Google has been making more and more of these apps available in the market, and as such there is no need to have them in the /system/app folder anymore. I've run into the issue with Google Search, Voice Search, Street View, etc.

The solution is to go into /system/app and delete the CarHome.apk. Then reboot, and install Car Home in the market.
