[ROM] Zen-MIUI v2 Android 2.2 + MIUI

That problem occurs when you are trying to install an update to a system file that was previously only updated via system updates and not available into the market. Google has been making more and more of these apps available in the market, and as such there is no need to have them in the /system/app folder anymore. I've run into the issue with Google Search, Voice Search, Street View, etc.

The solution is to go into /system/app and delete the CarHome.apk. Then reboot, and install Car Home in the market.

It appears it's a bit more complicated as in /system/app there is CarHomeGoogle.apk AND CarHomeLauncher.apk. I'm trying to work out which one to remove now.

EDIT: It just worked for me by removing CarHomeGoogle.apk, rebooting, and then installing Car Home via market. Thanks for the tip off that there was an updated version of that app.

yeah alot of people removed the Launcher as well dont do this!! you wont be able to get into the App!!! which is pretty nice I might add!!! adding Shortcuts FTW!!!!

Quick question (I KNOW, I'VE ASKED ENOUGH ALREADY!) but yes, I have reverted to old Facebook, fine. It is syncing but when I click 'Sync only in contacts' it proceeds to sync EVERYONE on my Facebook, not so fine. Any idea?

in your contacts list hit the menu button and make sure it is only contacts with phone numbers, should fix it.

Try one of the modded versions either by me or bgill. They have all of the available fixes. The 3g issue has been fixed in mine. Probably in bgill's too.

For those of you asking about Facebook.... It works with either a fix or one of the modded roms. All of the user data syncs Just not the photos... It's a bug in the original MIUI rom as far as I can tell.

What's the fix? I've got the AccountAndSyncSettings.apk fix, and Facebook shows up in my accounts, but it is not synced with my contacts.

try replacing the apk with one from FRG22D or another rom. I removed the accountandsyncsettings apk that came with it as soon as I started modding so I can say weather or not renaming will fix it. If when you replace the apk it doesn't work try formatting boot, system, data, cache and sd-ext, then applying one CM or SS4.8 or something else. I used CM6 and it worked perfectly. Then boot the phone, reboot into recovery and apply the rom again. Honestly it is way easier to load one of the roms (Edit: that include all the fixes), but that's just my opinion.

That is the option selected but it's still adding people from Facebook that I don't have in my contacts...because they have phone numbers on Facebook...y'know mean?

.bak got rid of it for me...I know that isn't much help, but it did.

For me it will make the change, but then if I back out of /system/app and then go back in, the file has reverted itself back to Updater.apk. It's driving me nuts.

EDIT: I was able to uninstall it in Titanium Backup. Goodbye updater! There's no reason I'd ever need it, right?

I am Really luvin this Rom, I think someone mentioned this before but I want to reiterate that Set cpu is a "Hater" for this rom. I OCd to P3's 1200mhz and it kept on rebooting once Ocd thru Set cpu. I removed Setcpu and kept P3's Kernel and OMG, this phone is so smooth, I almost Wet My pants..LOL....a little TMI but hey..This Rom is just that Nice..I cannot imagine aside from the sd card and phone storage issue, how else acan this thing get any better..

I think I was the one who mentioned it. I don't think SetCPU is necessary with this ROM unless you're more concerned with getting outrageous quadrant scores than you are with actual performance.

I'm loving this rom so far, but I'm not a big fan of the stock font. Is there a way to port over the font from UD's rom or a port to different set of fonts?? any help would be appreciated because i think I'm gonna rock this rom for a bit. Thanks

I used 'Font Installer' from the market. It works fine. I switched to 'Frontier' font.
