[ROM] [ROM] ZombieStomped 1.7 (.595 D2 GB Motoblur build)

: here is update #1
posting this from my Laptop which is currently tethered using the "wireless tether" app from my g/f's D2 rooted, stock 2.2.

In the GB leak there is already a bulit in wireless/wired tether app. Did you try that?

no i didnt. is it the one right at the top of the apps list called "3g Mobile Hotspot"? if so i assumed that was left over from the VZW apps for mobile hotspotting.

Hmmm, i'm not 100% sure about that cause i'm on MetroPCS, but it works for me, whereas on my previous phones i've used Barnacle to tether.
But anyways, that's the one I was talking about, but when you open that app up it only shows the Wifi way, to USB tether you have to go to Settings>Wireless & Networks> Tethering & mobile hotspot
Like I said, i'm on Metro though, and it works perfect for me, but I have no idea how Verizon operates since i've never had them.

Funny, I thought that 3G app was a GB ROM left-over that would involve Verizon as well, so haven't used it.

Well, all it does is make an ad-hoc wifi signal that any other device can connect to. I usually just use it to do multiplayer games that can be played on the same network.

Ok, I just tested USB tethering, and it won't work, cause I don't have some weird driver installed. But the Wifi tethering works perfect.
And USB tethering works with pdanet.

Interactive x governor doesn't play well with youtube app

What do you mean?

I can't seem to stream videos very well. World fine with the ondemand governor

Weird, I don't know why the governor would mess with streaming. I thought you might've meant the phone turned off or something during playback.

Edit: Yes lol I know that wasn't very helpful

Enabled, connected, and BOOM!

No soup for me......

So, wait, that is a link pointing to purchase the tethering plan... not quite what I was going for, actually that is what I was attempting to avoid. As soon as vzw starts blocking that it will be time for me2 switch to a more affordable carrier. As much as I enjoy verizons coverage and customer service... well, I think im spending enough as it is w/2 d's on1 plan.

Can I make a suggestion and please do not integrate the customizer with the ROM? I like the ROM, and don't need customizations. The reason I say this is because I've had difficulty with past ROM's and hard resets when they start integrating customizers.

Anyone have Comcast Xfinity mobile app? When I listen to my Digital Voice messages in the app it's really quiet and garbled sounding. Wondering if it's just me or everyone else. Worked fine until I installed Zombie.

Ooh, too bad. Yeah, like I said i've never had Verizon. Do what you have to do.

The customizer isn't integrated, it's an optional download. I think Jake and phorgotten are planning on keeping it that way(don't take my word for it & someone correct me if i'm wrong)

just a warning from my recent experience on 1.7

INSTALL BOTH PARTS lol

last night, I finally decided to make the jump from ZS 1.65 (which had been running great for me), and I decided that I didn't want to mess with theming or customization, so I figured I would just install the ROM (part 1). It ran solid for a few hours, even right up until I went to sleep and put it in my desk dock. During the night, I heard the phone keep vibrating, so I rolled over to find it in a bootloop. It would go through the bootanimation for about 30 seconds, and then get to my lock screen, but I could never unlock the phone. It would keep repeating said process over and over, so I did a battery pull and reboot, but the same thing continued to happen. I couldn't boot into the bootstrap recovery, only stock, so I ended up having to flash the 2.3.2 sbf through RSD lite, and then perform a factory reset back to stock 2.2 through the stock recovery.

I'm not sure if the issue would've happened if I hadn't used my dock (which launches the clock app), but I can only assume the issue was my own fault, and that it wouldn't have happened if I had just followed directions, and installed both parts like the original post had said.

Just thought I'd pass my story along in case anyone was considering installing just part 1, DON'T lol.

Thanks again to all the devs for their great work, and everyone on the forum for their helpful info and tutorials. Without them, I'd probably still be looking at my D2 in a bootloop lol.
