[HACKS] Root Droid 1 - regardless of OS version

Please start a new thread for your question. This one is already 100+ pages long and your question doesn't on the surface have anything to do with the topic at hand.

And there's a pretty huge collection of droid files at my place . . . . mac got some of his first stuff from me I think . . . .

This is some great stuff! Before I begin though, I have the Droid 2 A955 rooted and have used koush's bootstrap recovery program. Do you still advise me to go the "SPRecovery" route? Or am I good using Koush's Bootstrapper program? And IF I do, your .zip file in Step #2 applies to the A855 version. Will this conflict in anyway? Thanks for the help!

This is only for the Droid 1.

So i follwed the directions and everything went fine, caught the reboot and everything. But when i downloaded the Terminal Emulator, I type in su and it says permission denied. What went wrong? Also when I now try and boot into recovery, i get the triangle with the exclamation point. Any suggestions?

You didn't install Motocache1's update.zip before booting into the OS. This means you have to start over, I'm afraid.

Remember you have to boot into recovery directly after catching the boot. Then apply the update.zip and then reboot.

There's no error message or anything that looks out of the ordinary?

So when you boot into the os you don't have root and when you reboot into recovery it is the stock recovery?

But after you flash the sbf you are able to get into sprecovery?
