Rooted today...

ApeX 1.3.1 is for .340 so that should be fine, it just hung at the M screen? How did you get back to clockwork to restore the backup?
 
It could have been one of those miracle battery pulls that brings you back to wherever you left off.

That was exactly it lol. I did a battery pull and it went back to recovery. I was able to do a restore from the backup I had created with rom manager. Apex is a rom too right?

Yes. Apex is a rom. Unless you accidentally installed a theme or something. Whatever the case you are back to something stable and that is all that matters.
