rubiX Focused 1.6

Well been running medium voltage @ 1.45ghz....

Decided to try ULV @ 1.0ghz today, phone still runs fast and after 8.5 hours off the charger...fairly light use, just a few phone calls and txts...but Im still @ 90% battery left :)

These posts kill me! LOVE this ROM but is drains my battery like a mother! ULV 1.0 and after 2 hours of little to know use gives me 60-70 percent, 5 hours little to no use renders 30% :(.

it sounds like your phone doesn't like my rom :(

have you messed with the oc/uv settings? i had thought that 1.15 ulv was the best for me, but when i switched to 1.25, for WHATEVER reason, it plays nicer with my phone. Going on hour 12 at 50% battery..

Remember, your display probably drains more battery than anything. The more you flick it on and off the more juice youre draining

I don't understand how.. so weird.
all day of VERY heavy use..., BT and WiFi on ALL DAY, and I'm still over 60%...

I'd love for someone that's experiencing bad battery life, to .sbf back, reload the ROM as per the instructions.. and then document everything they do to the phone.. as in, themes, restore from backup (and what), MOD, changes, ??.. what apps, etc. .. gotta be SOMETHING causing this! :S

slightly more info may (or may not) help:
Theme?
Battery or task management apps (Advanced Task Killer, etc. etc. etc.)?
Did you restore from a backup (Titanium in particular)?
Any other mods?

No Theme other than your blackbar mod. No task managers, yes restored apps from Titanium. No other mods, I do use LauncherPro Premium.
Im having the same issue. My battery goes down within 5 hours and Im doing about 5 text messages and maybe 10 minutes of calls. The standby and idel perventage are in the 60% and 30% ranges...crazy!!!!!

Any luck on finding the culprit yet?

Cell standby percent is actually a visual bug. It doesn't affect your battery life whatsoever. If you turn airplane mode on then off again, voila, no more cell standby issues, and your battery use will remain the same ;)

So running ULV 1.0 all day now, after 13 hours, mainly phone calls and some texting, I'm at 80% battery. That's with stock battery. I'm going to try the extended battery tomorrow.

Same Exact Problem

i'm having the most difficult time with my phone yesterday and today dude my battery died through the process of updating to rubix, i had 50% its at 0% right now not sure if it finished and died after or what as I wasn't infront of the phone. Ive been running or had been running leaked 2.2 since it was released. and been through most roms that have come out since other than tranq. this has been the only time this has happened to me. haha fail :(

I believe the ROM was designed for the OTA 2.2 not the leaked...just a speculation but this could be the issue

The ROM runs fine with both bootloaders, basebands, etc. We don't know the difference between the leaked 2.3.15, and the OTA, but the differences do not seem to affect stability, or issues like this. I have seen reports of battery weirdness from both people that have, and have not updated their baseband/bootloader.

I've never run the OTA update, so my baseband/etc. are still not updated.. and I've had ZERO problems with focused 1.x, no reboots, no battery issues, etc.
The ROM is a full build of the Moto DroidX SDK, which contains no blur. It has nothing to do with what what you installed it from.. it formats /system first, and installs there.

If you're having issues, and I was a betting man, I'd give it 100 to 1 odds, that the issues came AFTER the install.
Pretty much every issue I've seen on the forums comes from something installed, restored, changed, modded, whatever AFTER the ROM was installed.

Things to check:
--Theme/BarMod/OtherMod (LCD Density comes to mind, if you want reboots, change your LCD Density)?
--Overclocking/Undervolting?
--Did you restore data from a backup program (especially Titanium)?
--Did you make sure to clear data/cache when you installed?
--Are you trying to run any task killer/battery manager etc. type apps?
--Anything else that you may have changed/modded/installed that could affect the framework?

Of all the issues/complaints on this ROM, those sum up almost everything. There ARE a few known issues, such as:
UNOFFICIAL Known Issues – Focused 1.6 -- sephtin.com

There are also some reported issues that can't be replicated (no one can provide steps that can recreate the issue every time), including weird battery life problems, etc.

yes i am having the same exact problem with the m logo being stuck i believe it is just certain phones tho.... When the first leaked 2.2 hit on clockwork modz i downloaded it to my girlfriends and my phone ever since that day i have Factory reset, wiped cache, loaded 3 dif. sbf's including focused 1.0 and 1.6 nothing has seemed to fix this issue however i never ran into this problem with 2.1 .... now thats my story however i have always done everything i have done to my girlfriends phone and it boots up flawlessy everytime. i think it may be a app stuck on my sd card so i am considering wiping my sd card factory reseting 2.3.15 sbf and starting over.... any thoughts???

Doing a 100% clean SBF back to stock and doing exactly what the original post says as ive done before to install. As mentioned before, I dont know how a blurred rom like SSX gives me so much more battery life. Going to install no apps what so ever other than bootstrap from the app market when rubix is put up. Not going to restore anything from titanium. What boggled me is that on SSX the phone idle was SO low, display was the top battery user by a LONG shot with everything miles behind. This was with the display set to the lowest as level as well. I did the SSX nandroid restore at around 3pm a couple of days ago, by night with very little use through text messaging the rom stayed at 80% up until midnight till I started heavily using to see if possibly my battery manager was bugged. When I woke up the next day the battery level was where I left it at. Wanted to see how it would last though the night. Rubix 0.5 worked well this way also, it wasnt until 1.0 the battery drain surfaced for me. I'll post some stats later tonight after I get it going.

Is phone idle bugged for Rubix as Cell Standby is for the batt manager?

Going to do an on the hour update on stats, starting with 10:30 EST... Will post stats at 11:30... As mentioned before, only have bootstrap installed so far.

1.2 @ ulv ... I was using this for a while but it would crash while playing psx for extended periods. I moved to 1.2 @ lv which was much more stable, but was an obvious drain to the battery for some reason. Switching to 1.25 @ ulv seems to work amazingly with _my_ phone, and agrees with the battery as well. Launch day x.

Stupid question, but when you restored stuff to Focused 1.x, what you restored was from either Focused 0.5, or other blurry rom, right? wondering if that had an affect.. or?

Just wondering...

Never restored anything from a backup when flashing over a new rom if thats what you mean. Didn't want any issues to come up so I would just download them from the market again since it really didn't take that long.

Alright first update, no drocap installed...

Side notes: Baseband is bp_x_01.09.07p

Battery %: went from 90% to 80% since 10:30 but it wasnt a full charge, and it was also at 90% during the sbf/install so not considering this at all for how the rom is performing.

Battery Manager listing:
Cell Standby 43% (worthless due to bug i know, ignore this)
Phone Idle 25%
Display 16% (21m 56s of use)
Voice Calls 10% (Updated roaming to be safe)
Android System 3%
Swype 2%

Total of 15 texts (counting back and forth) were done during this first hour.

12:30am EST update- Battery still 80%

Manager stats:
Cell Standby 45%
Phone Idle 34%
Display 12% Time on 27m 43s
Voice Calls 6% (no additional calls since before)
Android System 2%

10 total additional texts since last update

9:15am Update: Battery at 70%
Manager Stats:
Cell Standby 49%
Phone Idle 46%
Display 4%
voice Calls 2%

So I got the page 44 and didn't see anyone asking the question I have so I just am gonna go ahead and ask.

The camera seems to be shooting at a low resolution, is there any way to change to get the wide 6MP shots ?

Same for the video as well, it seems to be recording at a lower resolution with the stock android APP.

Thanks!

Button on the top right in camera app, is settings. Tap it, then SCROLL DOWN. (Caps this, because it totally NOT obvious.... I missed it for quite a while. :S

The AOSP Camera does NOT have 6MP (Wide Screen), but it will do 8MP shots if selected. Video goes up to HD 720P, same as blur camera version.
