rubiX Focused 1.6

Hello all, I just installed 1.6, it is the first version of the rubiX ROM I am trying. So far everything is great, I just have one question. What is everyone using for voicemail? I had been using Verizon Visual Voicemail, however I don't see it installed. Is there any way to get it working? Thanks for any help

I've been running this since day 1 I only have sephtin black bar mod and a few apps. I am not overclocked but using jrummys app to ultra low voltage at stock frequency. I usually get 12 hours of normal use and I only drop to 70%. Then I can get a few hours of angry birds and I end up with 20% when I plug in for the night. Also wifi and bluetooth is on all day. Cell standby shows like 74% but I know that's a bug. This rom is screaming fast and my battery lasts all day. I love this rom. Just wish this was available for incredible then all of phones would be on runic. Ty for everything

Sent from my DROIDX using DroidForums App

Okay, fresh install (wipe cache and data), no apps, no mods...ul voltage stock speed, NO PHONE CALL, NO TEXT...idle phone for 5 hours and battery is at 40%...I hate to say it but I am about ready to give up :(.

Last ditch effort, just sbf'ed er, gonna try no restore, and bootstrap only...see if that work...

your phone just may not like my rom :( rom's don't respond the same on every phone, sadly..

You can use the original app, you just gotta download it. I attached the link for the system dump. Just download, unzip, copy VVM.apk form the App folder to your sd card, copy to /system/app and install.

OMG, I didn't even know it was available to DL from the Market lol. Well that took all of a few seconds to resolve. Thank you VERY much :)

Bluralarm?

I know the whole point of this rom is blurless but i am attached to the blur alarm clock. I have it in apk form (with a .odex file as well) and I can't seem to get them to run. I can copy them both to my system/app folder, change permissions and install or do any variation of the above and I open the app and it closes immediately.

Any idea how I can get this app running? Or is it too dependent on other blur components??

Thanks!

You have to have blur framework to use blur apps. The whole point of this ROM is to not include that stuff, its much more than just having or not having apps.

Loving this Rom as much as previous versions and think I may be on the way to fixing the battery issues I have been having (formated sys, data, cache with no restored apps).

One thing I noticed today though is that the Google Translate app locks up after about 15-20 secs (basically two translations). Anyone else seeing this or is it something in my config?

The most current version of Trillian doesnt like this ROM one bit. Lots of wacky behavior and force closes.

I'll grab it, and see if I can recreate.

Going to be a day or so... In the mean time, how was it installed? If you downloaded and installed it, then disregard..
But, If you installed by restoring it from backup, or something non-standard, then try clearing data/cache before anything else.

Menu> Settings> Applications> Manage Applications> All tab> Trillian>
Force stop, clear data, clear cache.
If you installed from restore, and that doesn't work, remove it, and install from scratch.

If the app works on any vanilla install of Android, it **should** work on this ROM.
(Note, this is the first report I've seen of trillian not working, and I know quite a few people use it.. just not on DroidX... so *shrug*. I'll test soon.

Please report back if that fixes it.

*Edit: Was quicker than I thought. Will continue testing, but zero issues so far with trillian and live messenger, yahoo, gchat, etc. accounts... logged in and chatting on all.

Can you recreate the issue? How can I test the issues you're having? "Doesn't play well isn't very helpful..."

This was a fresh install. I'm going to try again and see if I can recreate the crashes. I actually got it to show a crash text report at one point. Ill see if I can post that next time.

Have been using trillian most of the evening on Focused 1.6, no mods except my black bar. I'm having no issues. :S
If you have steps to recreate.. anything specific thta causes it, etc, would be good.. (??).

Have been told you can make it work by grabbing both the alarm clock, as well as a couple other framework components from blur.

NOTE: If you do this, be prepared for other issues, I don't know what other affects this can have... but if you NEED the blur alarm clock, this **might** be an option... otherwise, I might suggest trying the Blurry version of the ROM.

Thanks very much! Hard to imagine a single alarm app has so many repercussions but such is the way...
