rubiX Focused 1.8.9/1.9.3

Anyone see any battery drain issues? My phone goes down 10% every 30 minutes.

Sent from my DROIDX using DroidForums App

I noticed that happening too on the first day or two. Give it a day, charge to full and past it, wipe battery stats, and you should be good to go and better than ever.

I'm runing non-leak 1.8.9 and my battery is good. Off charger 4h 43m and I'm @ 80%.

Obviously it could be better since all I've down on it is ereader, check some emails.

I even did the charge to 100% then Bootstrap Recovery to clear Batt Stats. but, haven't experienced what your describing.

I think the Cell Standby bug is back coz B.M. says 43% for Cell Standby and Display is @ 11% which I believe the two are normally reversed.

thanks guys. i had just done a battery stat reset a couple days ago, but i will do it again.

i didnt even notice it until i realized that it was only 10:30 this am and my phone was half dead (im not usually a pessimist).

Yesterday when I installed it I was losing about 10% an hour which was the same as the first day on 1.8.6. After doing a battery stat wipe last night following a full charge, I'm at 80% now after 4 hours. This is closely paralleling my performance on 1.8.6 where by day 3 I was getting 24 hours with regular usage.

is the lin down for 1.8.9??? I enjoyed 1.0 and 1.6 but with nobody using rom manager seemingly anymore it makes it a little harder for me to keep up with whats new. As nothing anymore seems localized and is thrown out everywhere. Not trying to whine too much but i work 12+ hours a day normally and rarely have time to check the forums, or twitter to keep myself updated... but i do appreciate the hard work for those whom do develp.

Drod's working on the link. I'm uploading, but I have to be someplace for lunch, so I won't have a mirror for at least an hour or two... by then hopefully drod has one up.. *shrug*

ROM Manager-
Yea. ROM Manager is a pain to keep updated. And here's the BIGGEST problem with ROM Manager... People just go there and install the ROM, and NEVER read the FAQ or the install instructions or the known issues or the changes....
And then the majority of them come to the forums and ask the same questions (that have already been answered multiple times inthe thread) over and over, without reading a single post.

Now, I realize your time is valuable, and I'm not saying that you're one of these people... but putting a ROM on the phone IS a time consuming thing, and the more you know about what changes between versions, and what issues can arise, the less hassle it is for drod, and those who help by answering questions, etc.

Honestly, between not taking the time to update RM, and the fact that it just increases the number of very very basic questions being repeatedly asked on the boards... that is why ROM Manager hasn't been updated.

I haven't talked to drod about it recently... If he requests that it be updated, it would get done... Otherwise, I'm inclined to leave it off of RM for the time being...

Edit: On a side note.. can you imagine the number of issues that would be there if I put up both 1.9.3 and 1.8.9 of Focused on RM?
If you went there, and just saw both versions, which one would you install? You can see why forums are preferred method of release than RM. :P

I am giving this download link a try. I will let you know if anything goes wrong. Thanks for the mirror.

No problem. I'm at work and it's the only upload site that wasn't blocked by State Farm's network.

Its all good man I understand. Took a little while to download on my home network but its all good. About to install.

I do agree with you on the points that you made. but in my case usually when i have the time to install or change a rom i do attempt to visit a forum and read any thread as it is downloading. numerous times i've trashed a d/l. but have seemed overly happy with anything that has had Drod's name on it. But there again i do see your point in the ignorance of just clicking on it in RM and going blindly.

OK re quadrant scores, and i'm not trying to start anything here, just a perspective. If i'm off base or not understanding something correctly let me know.

I think they are relevant regardless of what the numbers are if you are comparing them against other DXs running the same Rom and version. If you are comparing those quadrant scores against other phones running stock builds then they'll be skewed and not an accurate representation of your phone's performance.

We are all here because we like pushing the envelope when it comes to getting our phones to perform as best they can. Quadrant or Linpack numbers are just tools to help gather those metrics. The numbers are only as good as how they are interpreted.

I'm assuming Drod said the quadrant scores would be off because he wanted to avoid folks using the scores as justification for "poor performance". Drod, if that's not the case please correct me. This is the fast rubix build I have seen regardless of what those numbers say. That is really all that matters at the end of the day.

anyway, my two cents.

Can a few people running 1.9.3 chime in and let me know how the leak is running etc? Also will blackjuice V3 theme work with it?

how do you change the window transitions in this rom?

Change how? Please be more specific. If you are asking how to make them completely different, just load a theme for 1.8.6 and you will have the old transitions. If you want to know how to adjust to speed or remove them entirely, use Spare Parts.
