I have a question after I installed 1.8.9 Rom, when I turn my phone off and then back on it will go into bootloader mode,

Then M logo comes on then goes to the screen where the green lettering is that you go to that you would go to when you want to do a cache wipe, and then I have to hit the button that says reboot system.

Is there a way to stop that so everytime i shut my phone off and back on that it stops doing that?

Because everytime i install an app and restart my phone to make sure everything is ok it goes to that screen.

Please help, and did i do something wrong on my install of the rom?

Also when is the best time to reset our battery stats after installing this ROM, to get the most battery readings that this great ROM gives us?

Wipe the battery stats at 100%

And thats weird. It's been reported a couple of times. I'll look into it

So I noticed I'm experiencing slowdown/lag after a while (3 times today) until I reboot. Reminds me of the old BB Storm days... Anybody else experience this? Fixes?

I wanted to give this ROM a try vs Focused. Why doesn't the market remember my previously downloaded apps?

It should, and it always has for me.

Make sure that during the setup, you check the box for the Google Backup thingy, and as a recommendation, before you open market, turn on WiFi.. so they download faster.

If you open up the market, and search one of the apps you had previously, and it says it's downloading, and looks stuck... then it's working, just gotta wait... (usually, you can open your app drawer, and see the apps coming back, albeit slowly..

hrmm yeah I have always checked off the google backup. I have switched back and forth from stock to Focused a few times and it never redownloaded at that point either. Weird.....

I actually have a theory on this. In the process of experimenting but if you'd like to try it feel free and let me know how it works. In /system/etc/sysctl.conf there is a line that says vm.vfs_cache_pressure = 10. This is one of the tweaks Drod implemented in 1.8.9. Try changing it to 25 and see how that goes for you. Let me know if it lags over time still.

Well.. as a work around.. appbrain is your friend?

I HAVE heard of it failing, most of the time, when someone opens the market, and reboots... or due to restoring data via titanium (restores market data, and messes up the app restore that way)...

And I recall people that have had issues because they switched lots of times between wifi and 3g, and caused market to completely lock up.. and wiped data and cache, which caused the restore to fail...

But never of anyone that it simply didn't work at all for.

You're not using a lock screen type app.. such as nolock, or widgetlocker, or ? by chance, are you?

Some times when you hit the wake button before the screen actually locks (about 5-10 seconds after the screen turns itself off) it'll just open the screen to where it was. This is normal

I have had a few times where it didn't remember the installed apps. Usually that happens if I wipe, install a new rom and then need to reinstall the rom again shortly after. Maybe before the phone pushes the new backup up to google? just a guess.

Happened with the 1.8.9 build for me. I reinstalled it after noticing that the build still said 1.8.6 because I thought I had grabbed the wrong .zip file during install. I didn't read the forum before re-installing, my bad. Otherwise I would have known the build number wasn't updated in 1.8.9.

It's inconvenient but if you also use AppBrain it's pretty easy to recover from.

drod, septhin, great rom and your work is appreciated as is the information in this thread. I would hate to see it closed.

just donated a few bucks for the 1.8.9 work.

You're not using a lock screen type app.. such as nolock, or widgetlocker, or ? by chance, are you?

No I have not installed anything like that, never have used them before. just the rom and my apps that i had installed before with the other Rom of 1.6. Just basic apps.

Notice it after I just was using Tango video confernce. don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Some times when you hit the wake button before the screen actually locks (about 5-10 seconds after the screen turns itself off) it'll just open the screen to where it was. This is normal

But I am not touching the buttons for like 10 minutes or so and it is still not lock with the slide bar. never had this do this before.
