rubiX Focused 1.9.5

If you use Handcent SMS, you'll be able to fully customize your notifications, including LED color and notification icon per contact.
So the option to do it in the stock messaging application is gone now? I'd rather be stuck with a green LED than use Handcent.

Oh. Yeah it's not available in the stock messaging app. Do you mind if I ask why you don't like handcent? I've seen no downside to it with its massive customization options.

Is there any way to remove the camera app from this and use the default one that comes with Droid X? I can't seem to figure out how to take widescreen pics, and I tried all settings, so I dont think its possible.

AOSP camera does not have a widescreen mode.
You CAN install the blur camera... there's a patch on sephtin.com

Before I link it, know this:
The WideScreen option, is a 6mp pic., that is nothing more than a cropped 8mp image.

If you must have the 6mp wide screen verison, Here's the link to an unsupported blur camera patch:
http://www.sephtin.com/rubiX/DX_Camera(BlurCameraFromFission).zip

Oh, never mind then. I just figured 'wide' was better quality then 8mp, but guess not according to the info you gave me. thanks

Yeah, this is a common misconception. Moto has us all fooled!

Any thoughts about removing data throttling on 1.9.5. Some folks on DXF have used the GummyJar hack and had success, any comments from drod or Sephtin on the safety of this hack?

I know that 1.9.5 and Gummy are very similar, but are they so similar that running this hack they won't have issues?

If other people are using it with success.. it's not part of Focused, it's something that you can choose to try if you want (if it doesn't work, just remove it... removal is as easy as re-loading Focused with no wipe).

Honestly, I'm not huge on taking framework files form one ROM, and migrating them to other ROMs.
I'd MUCH rather know what the change(s) are, and make them myself. I can think of 3 changes to services.jar that I STILL don't have steps to (if anyone has links directly, please PM or email me with info! ;) Or, if there are other hacks to services.jar that are worthwhile.. also lemme know! :)

Those hacks to services.jar that I'm aware of, and wish I had more info on:
--Data Throttling
--Default minimum brightness setting (Someone said this was in framework, if so, disregard) :)
--Remove clock (and/or change font/color)

Sorry if this doesn't exactly answer your question... If/When I can find the exact steps to create them, I'd be happy to make each available using the actual framework-res from the appropriate ROM.

I did some looking into the throttling removal.

I created the zips for RubixFocused-1.9.5 and RubixFocused-1.9.5themed and uploaded them to my personal site. They are 100% rubix. I took Rubixs services.jar file and magic foo'd them according to how other people went about it. Post is http://www.droidforums.net/forum/drod2169-x/112470-rubix-throttling-removal.html

Hope this helps. Any input / suggestions / feedback is welcome. I'm sort on Development time though, so I may take a little bit to respond.

I just think it's ugly, even with the customizations/themes available, and I'd rather use a stock application. The messaging application in 1.9 was perfect. 1.9.5 added vibration options but removed the LED color option. Is the new messaging application from Gingerbread or something?

edit:
I used my brain and pulled the Mms.apk out of the 1.9 ROM and did an adb push Mms.apk /system/app and I'm good now!

Nah, havent tried "tune in" no biggie, I will either convert to blur 1.9.5 when it is done, or just live with my music. streaming uses data, radio is free. :) Ok I am old.

My guess is they want to use the FM Radio program.
I must admit I would like it too. I like listening to local radio on my walk home from work.
So far that is the only thing I don't have on rubix focused.

The reason I went with focused is because it seems that blur messes up my push corporate mail. Does the blurry rubix have these issues with push mail? I don't mind the blur, just like my mail when it is supposed to be delivered :)

Have you tried the Tune In Radio app? It allows streaming of radio stations all over the country.

Same here, love the options of Handcent....absolutely hate the UI. Use the stock app.

Random reboots

I've been using Rubix since the first release. Every single release I have had random reboots, except this release. Did drod do something to fix it or are the random reboots still around? (knocks on wood).

Great job Drod and everyone that helped. My rubix is lightning fast.

Running Rubix-Themed 1.9.5 on .340.

Framework is completely different between 1.9.0, and 1.9.5.

I think .340 fixed that.
.340's fix for random reboots (that we know of.. since we don't have a changelog or anything), was to bump the stock voltages, to hopefully add stability. Since the ROM uses old stock voltages (and some people undervolt even further)... the changes that we know about from 2.3.340 for stability aren't included in any custom ROMs that I'm aware of.

Since some people are having issues with some of the apps that are in this version (all are completely different than the previous rubiX, or at least the vast majority), I'll be reverting back to some previous versions for better customization and userability (is that even a word?)

Just a heads up.. Sorry guys, I should of had this released a good while ago, but I've been sooooo busy. Not enough hours in the day..

If you care, the "fix" I did for the messaging application was to take the 1.9 version and overwrite the notification icons with the ones from 1.9.5 and now it looks like the new one and has the options of the old one. It works great! Thanks for these amazing ROMs, I've tried others, but always move back to rubiX. 7RW50939S9787803P :)

Are Facebooks "Push Notifications" working for anyone on 1.9.5?

They didn't work for me on 1.6 and still not working for me in 1.9.5 :(

installed 1.95 and when i press the home key nothing happens regardless if im in a app or just the launcher. all the others work .??

I noticed with this rom that my "hard" keys are not responssive. Sometimes I have to press two or thee times to get them to work. Last night I tried a different rom and did not experience this issue at all. I am back to rubix and it started happening immediately. I am using adw but not sure if it is related.
