Seidio 2600mAh extended battery

Saving Battery Power

If I want the screen to go into sleep mode even when it's plugged into the wall, going to "settings" will enable me to do that, correct?

Thanks!

LOL!... just quickly hit the power button on the top right of the phone.... took me while to notice that too for some reason!

OKay, this doesn't make any sense. I gave the phone a full charge last night after a complete draining from a full charge. I unplugged it this morning 15.5 hours ago. The phone says I have 60%, the battery info from Battery Left battery info says my battery level is 60%//3793 mV, but the widget reads 39%.
So what's up with that???

Sometimes when you first unplug it, it will say "reading" on the accuracy table. Until that goes away, it won't give a good reading.

Is it ok now?

you guys are all talking about recalibrating... and incorrect % display levels, but is this mainly directed at the Battery Left widget?

What about the stock Android battery icon? Is that working properly? I'm fine with messing with the Battery Left widget and take some time for it to calibrate properly, but if the Android battery icon isn't reading this battery, then I may not buy this one just yet..

A Little of both.. the Battery Left app has it calibration sequence but the other monkey wrench in the equation is when your reboot once after being fairly depleted, it comes back up with much higher readings... This is on the stock droid reading too.. its a firmware glitch.....

This was about 14 hours after I had unplugged it yesterday morning. Right now I'm about 6-7 hours out of the charger. This what I have

BL Widget: 70%

BL 1st screen:
Estimated %: 70%
System %: 90%

BL Battery Info Screen:
Battery Level: 90
Battery Voltage: 4077 mV (was at 4180 right out of the charger)

Droid, Settings, About Phone, Status:
Battery Level: 90

(I left out all other superfulous information on all screens)

So why does the widget read 70% and everything else is what it is. Also, what's the differance between Estimated % and System % (bearing in mind the phone itself reads the battery level @ 90)?:icon_eek:?

Hmm, after getting 54 hours of use with the calibration, I gave it a full charge and Battery Left said I had 23 hours of use. I was a little surprised by that.

Oddly enough though, I'm already at 3700mv after only 10 hours of use. This is a very odd charge...but it was certainly on the charger long enough (11 hours).

That is odd...... I recalibrated and ran on my first run to 45 hours before it died... there was a lot of heavy phone use... after a completer recharge.. it immediately says 45hours estimated till dead with "moderate" accuracy.

Im talking about the extended Seidio.
I should get over 50 on my next discharge as this time was unusually heavy for me.

"Reading" just means that the app is waiting for the battery level to change so it can get an accurate estimate. I'm going to make some tweaks as it shouldn't really say this in the accuracy area.

I'm still working on the code to support Seidio batteries. Still don't have a battery to test with but I've got some ideas...

Go to the settings and change the "main display" to show the "estimated battery" right now it is showing you the "system battery" not the "estimated. When you change it, it will show the correct value there on the widget.

yep.. I did the same thing at first!..

Because when you view your choices the "system" was set by default I guess.. but nevertheless when system is checked, it appears at the top and its easy to assume thats the top of the list and its not... scroll up a tad more and you will see "estimated" to pick.

So far I'm enjoying mine showing "time left" as my top number.
MV reading as my large middle number
and percentage as my smaller bottom number.

So far, I find the percentage to be the least informative as this is such a big battery, its hard to compute what that really means in your head.

Right now, I'm at 3789mv and I show 19.44 more hours to go!.. I've already gone 60.03 hours so far! "time since reboot and I rebooted when I was finished charging".

Seems this Seidio extended battery is a challenge to pin down because its life is so long there is a lot of flexibility of how I may use my phone in that length of time. So guessing etc is hard..... watching mv readings is my favorite for a reliable gas guage.

So far I'm 20% display, 20 phone calls, 19 cell standby, 18 voice calls, 6 bluetooth, 5 wifi, 4 android system, 4 android core apps, 2 android OS, and 2% Weatherbug Elite.

Thanks!!! That's much better. I was about todump the widget, but thought I'd check in just to be sure. Now I consider thisa very useful program. I set the top reading as % and the second line as time left. I'm also going with the smaller widget. We'll see how it goes.

BTW, are there any rumors about when might be Seidio coming out with their slim extended battery???

At least until mine gets fully calibrated.. I find the MV reading to be the most comforting..... I "know" the battery is not going to die if the mv reading is up around 3700 or better regardless of what else is reported.

I feel the same way, although with mine I seem to get a lot of juice between 3600-3700 as well. In fact, a majority of my battery life seems to be between 3600-3800. It seems like every battery has it's own traits. I keep the mv reading on the widget at all times, and it's an easy way to check it. Do you update instantly, or at a set period (5 mins, 10, etc?). I've been at 5 minutes, but thinking about switching to instant update.

Honestly though, the big thing about this battery for me now is that I know that it's virtually impossible for me to kill it in a day.

This weekend I tested out c:geo and went geocaching with it. With GPS running for over 2 hours (which includes the c:gro program, GPS, AND display) in addition to over 3-4 hours or regular display/program usage in addition to that, I still was only at 3650mv by the time I went to bed. Personally, I can't imagine me using it more than that in a single day, and I still would have had plenty of usage remaining at that point.
