Seidio 2600mAh extended battery

Interesting... thanks....

thats sure seems like a lot of time between a mere 5% to zero.... seems the mv readings are much more graceful at giving good indication of battery status.

That may also be a good anchor to grab to.

But SEIDIO!!!! I have been trying to get in touch with you through PM all this time, I just want to return the faulty battery and the other not quite right battery door to you, where you promised me a postage paid envelope, please if you see this respond to me, so i can return to you the items that is no longer rightfully mine, i dont feel good keeping double stock, when I only paid once, and I sure don't wanna pay twice.

thank you.

Hello,

Thank you for the comments, we have not received any PM from you in a while, last one dated 2-27-10, did you accidentally sent it to someone else maybe?

Regards,

Hey Matt... what did the last update do?

I went to bed last night with about 50% estimated time and woke up to see it calibrating at 30%, then 20% "appeared to be following system percentage"... then when it finally stopped calibrating it now shows "rough" instead of "accurate" and estimated is at 14% and system is at 15%. I did update to the latest update early this morning.
After about an hour it started showing "moderate" accuracy.

It appears it truly recalibrating... only problem is I thought we wanted to do that starting on a fresh charge rather than close to depletion?

***Why did it do it automatically and should I intervene and recharge and restart the calibration after a full battery charge?

Is there an advantage to letting it follow its own course?..... because your instructions say to accurately calibrate to fully charge first?

Now it says full battery life is 18 hours.. even though I've already gone 40 hours on it without a charge.

Seems I do need to recharge and start the calibration over.

I got my extended battery last saturday. Now I've only let it go to dead once and it ran @ 28 hrs. How do you guys get 60-70 on yours? My BLW only ever showed a make of @ 20-24 hrs. Do I have a dud or is this a calibration thing?

Thanks

Hey guys,
I finally got my extended batt yesterday. The order placement and shipping was actually pretty quick this time. :)

I've been following this thread with interest since the beginning and so far my reading don't look good. I let it charge for about 10 hrs last night until this morning. I forgot the look at the Mv when I took it off this morn. But BatteryLeft only showed about 5 1/2 hrs until fully discharged, and that was after about 30 mins of streaming radio. I haven't had time to log my until now but i'm sitting at about:

Battery Left: (@10:46am) 2:56 hrs remaining / @ 60% / 3944Mv (Accurate)
Systems: (@10:46am) 40%

I'm going to keep an eye on things and log it again in about 30 mins or so. I actually like the way the extra bulk makes it feel in my hand. It gives me more of a grip. The plastic feels nice. I also like that the battery keeps the camera lens away rom the surface of whatever I have it resting on. I hope I don't have a dud!

Just downloaded the new app update and hit recalibrate.
Battery volt 4018 mV
est % 80
sys % 80

status calibrating.

So should I let this now run to empty and then recharge?

This time I think I"m only going to get about 48 hours.....
I got 70+ hours basically by not playing on it except for occasional checking the market, occasional phone calls....... moderate texting... left wifi and bluetooth on...
Keep in mind when you get that many hours.... you end up having "three" periods of sleep rather than just two.
"Sleep" meaning you go to bed and the phone sits there and does nothing for hours while its on standby.

But this time I've been pretty phone call intensive... when my wife steals my laptop in the eves.. that leaves me to have to play on my phone instead....

Just fixed that problem though.. I ordered another laptop!

Don't freak out yet and don't expect battery left to be accurate until about 3 full discharges... if you have 3944mv left.. your not even half discharged yet, maybe not even a 1/3rd used up yet.... just keep using it until you see it get in the 3600's and figure a few more hours and when it hits 3500mv a few more still if your not using it, otherwise, I could be dead within 30 min to 2 hours.

Seems like about 3350mv is when it dies and it drops pretty quick once its below 3500mv.

OK, well i'll keep an eye on it. It just seems like it shouldn't be that low within 1 hr of being off the charger. But like you said, it may not actually be that low since neither reading are accurate now. You get crazy time out of your battery. are you not using it much to get tha? Even 50 hrs with using it as a mini laptop it awesome. What kind of laptop did you buy?

I just had to pull the battery because I accidentially hit the Fartdroids "jingle fart song" in the office and at that moment, that was the fastest way to silence it! Good thing everyones at lunch!

Anyway, before that happened the sysem reported that it was below 15%.
After reboot:
BatteryLeft: 4:11 hrs left / 93% / 3895
System: 80%

while its calibrating the est and sys will be the same.. yes just use it as normal except don't charge it till its dead.
Do that about two or three times sets it.... after that it learns and finetunes pertaining to the area of the battery your using..ie: top 1/3rd etc.

Matt said he wrote in some code for the seidio extended battery to take more samples once the sys percentage hits 5% since there is a ton of battery life left after that...that should give the estimated time better accuracy.

BTW.... these last two updates wiped my data and so I will indeed be recharging to full and starting the calibration fresh again. The way you will know if it wiped your data is if you have to reset all your preferences as to what you want shown on the widget and color preferences etc.

This is a beta program and so far Seidio hasn't volunteered a test battery so it takes as long as it takes I suppose to fine tune the battery left app.

Yeah, you'd think seidio would be willing to, for the price of one battery, have someone basically program an app that works specifically with their product, since not being able to tell how much battery power is left can be a deterent to potential buyers. Especially those that are not particularly technical.

LOL!.... too funny!........

I thought you'd never ask!.... I"m pretty excited.. it ought to be stinkin fast with the SSD drive as primary and other as backup...
