Seidio Case

Just got my Driod yesterday, and ordered a case today on the recommendations off this thread.

I don't like uber bulky cases, but I need a screen protector and a case, so I ordered these. :)

HOLIDAY10 almost paid for the shipping since I got a multimedia dock from them too! :icon_ banana:

Well, I just got the thumbs up for the blue case from a friend here at work. He saw my phone back when I was using the Verizon silicone case, and he wasn't too impressed with the looks. When he saw my phone sitting out today, he asked, "Did you changed that?" I told him that I got a new case for it. "Yeah. Wow, that looks REALLY sharp. That's much better than the old one." He then picked it up and commented that it was much thinner and had a nicer feel to it. These all echo my thoughts on the case. Now I just need to do something about those rubbing tabs :o

Well, after using the seido case after a few weeks, I decided to pop it off and check for any pocket lint under the cover. My once mint Droid now has scratches on the top and bottom edges where the case must have been rubbing. I think I would have been better off running caseless, it would probably still be mint. I'm now running naked. What's the point of using a case when it scratches the phone?

My very first post....
I did a ton of research on cases for my new Droid, and you guys pointed me in the direction of the Seidio case. I ordered the blue case on a Sunday night, came in on Wednesday morning. I saw pictures of the gold colored one earlier in the thread. Kind of wish i would have went for that one instead. I think the gold would have created more of a WOW factor when others see it. The blue is a bit muted, but sophisticated. Much like the Droid itself.

Quick thoughts:
Easy to slip on/slip off

Unlike others, I do seem to feel a bit more friction when sliding out the keyboard. Hopefully this doesn't cause a problem down the line.

I thought it would be slim enough to fit on the MM dock, but it doesn't. This isn't a real problem for me, I don't use the dock as much as I thought I would.

The case has a bit of a "stickum" feel to it. Makes it less likely to slip out of my hands, so I like that. Not gummy or rubbery, just a bit of grip. It also doesn't seem to collect a lot of lint when in my pocket.

Love how sleek it is. Glad I got the raised Seidio logo rather than the painted.

This entire post sums up my thoughts about the case.

Ordered the Sapphire Blue case, just got it and fit it on my Droid when I got home a few minutes ago.

The color is definitely not as vibrant as I was hoping for. I was toying with it in my kitchen with bright lights, and found that the case almost looked black in bright light. But now that I'm up in my bedroom, where the only light is a darker, natural light from outside (hurray, snowstorm.), I can more clearly see the contrast between the blue of the case and the black of the Droid. And I have to say, it's beginning to grow on me quickly. But at the same time, I kind of wonder what the gold would have been like. It definitely seems as though it would have more of a *POW* first effect on someone. But, like meek_reese said, the dark blue has a more sophisticated feel towards it. So I'm not all that upset there.

However... a few minutes ago, I opened my physical keyboard, and saw something I did not like one bit...

Looks like a few scratches/imperfections right above the screen. I didn't notice them until I opened the physical keyboard, and then the white light from the notification bar illuminated them better. :(

I'm not sure if I should bother to contact Seidio about it or not. On the one hand, it was a $30 case. On the other hand, they're really minute little imperfections, and I'm really not one to go complaining about something so small. It just kind of looks bad when the light from the screen hits it and illuminates it! x_x

Other than that issue, I am very happy with the case. Droid + Seidio Case fits in my pocket just as the Droid by itself did (By far, this was the most important thing for me. I keep my wallet and my cell phone in my front-left pocket, and I would have been very unhappy if there would have been any problem fitting it in there afterwords.). The color, as said before, isn't quite as vibrant as I thought it would have been, but it does have a sophisticated look. And, I guess it makes sense... I'd rather pay $30 for a sophisticated-looking item than something that looks like it came out of a checkout display at Hot Topic. :)

tl;dr: Case works great, couple scratches I'm not thrilled about, color not as bright as I thought, but definitely looks nice. Worth every penny.

Could you explain a little better where the scratches are? I just put my seidio case on, and I will take it off IMMEDIATELY if it's just going to scratch my phone.

Sorry, I should have explained myself better. The scratches are on the case. It looks like the finish on the case scratched off in a few spots (see image) before I even got it.

The phone was not scratched. Oh, I would have screamed bloody murder if that had happened. Reading what Veedo just posted has worried me, though. :|

... Now that I think about it, did you mean to quote Veedo's post instead of mine?

Well I received my replacement case today and wheen I put it one it seemed to stay on and I used it for 4 hours or so like that but the first time I put it down in the car the front piece popped of and will not go back on now. Not sure what I'll do now. Probly contact the company and see what they say. I'm not knocking the company there customer service was great and they sent me out a replacement fast but still don't know why it won't fit... very dissiapointed right now. And on top of it I just ordered their dock since I thot the case fit this time

Apologies for such a niggly question, but I notice that the burgundy case has had its original "dremel hole" replaced by the square hole. What I cannot confirm from the earlier posts is whether the burgundy case still has the "painted" Seidio logo or whether that too has been replaced with the embossed logo. Can anyone confirm? (I've asked Seidio but haven't received a response.)

both my original and replacement burgundy cases have a painted logo on the back.

Interesting. Just "chatted" with Seidio online and after some initial bad information in which the person on the line consulted their own website and found the "painted" logo on the burgundy, I was assured that the burgundy now comes with the embossed logo. Will see when I get mine.

Ordered my Burgundy Innocase on 12/29/09. Recieved it in the mail yesterday (1/6/2010). Unfortunatley it does have the white Seidio lettering on the back, and a dremeled (sp?) hole on the back as well

Other then that, the case is nice...

Strange that some have fit issues and others don't. Mine fits perfectly (black). Good luck.

I have debated with myself previously about buying a seido case, it looks very innovative indeed.

at the end i still bought this one due to the 4 sided wall protection that i have always enjoyed, with a nice leather. um... the smell of new polished leather is nice.

Though i may still want to pursuade my friend to invest in a seido case first, then i can have a feel of it before jumping into the decision to buy one then find it no use for myself.

I was wondering about this. I thought the case itself could possible scratch the back of the phone (as the inside of the back cover was a bit rough and unfinished feeling)... it's to bad the BodyGlove fits so tight (I've seen several complaints of it damaging the phone) because most of their cases in this style have a nice felt/soft lining. I haven't seen the Droid case from BG but I would imagine it would be the same as their others that I've used.

Anyone else seen any scratches? Think I'll pop mine off and take a look in a bit.

Got this case today and I absolutely love it. It almost seems like the problems that people are having are user error. I can see how someone can mess up the install or not get all the clips on properly.

Anyway, the case makes the phone look and feel so much better. Also, I dropped my phone for the first time just one hour after installing the case lol. I guess my phone just wanted to be dropped. No damage from what I can see. Not even a scratch on the case.

Just ordered mine after waiting like a month deciding which color I wanted lol. Also got the screen protector, we'll see when it gets here! So excited

I'm sure I'm not the only one that has had this problem or will have this probe as they sell more and more cases for the droid. I think it is a desigh defect and that the tabs on the bottom part of the front piece need to prodruse the same as the top ones and all problems would be fixed

if people are smart enough to post on a forum, i am sure they can figure out how to put a case on a phone. check under your case for dirt, etc people. mine was scratched the worst under the cover by the chin. still not sure if the scratches were from the case or something behind the case. i didnt see much under the case when i took it off. dont say i didnt warn you!

I just got my case now, and installed it.

Question, is the back piece, on the bottom near the camera key supposed to be a little loose? it keeps popping in and out when i press it.
