Received my case today after ordering last Wed. I got the ash grey, which has a very nice, understated look.

Unfortunately, like a few others have mentioned, there seem to be some quality control issues in the manufacturing of these cases. The back piece of my case arrived with some scuffing and chipping, while the front piece has popped off once already after installing it.

I'm gonna contact Seidio tomorrow to get a replacement sent. It's a nice case with a great texture, but quality control definitely seems to be an issue here. For $30, I don't expect to be getting a damaged case. I guess I'll see how their customer service is at resolving this.

Def give it another try. I got the same (Ash Grey) a week ago and it's working great. I had to remove it once (for a battery reset) and it came off and went on w/o problem but has not come off (and I've dropped it once or twice). Others have said their CS is excellent so you shouldn't have a problem.

It is really a shame they are having such quality control issues. It's a good product (if not slightly overpriced) but they are wasting a tone of money with all the returns/replacements they are having to send out.

if the cost to sustain an excellent CS team to solve QC problems are shifted to maintain quality of their production, it would have been more ideal to consumers like ourselves.

which is now having doubts on their products, since what good is an excellent team of CS when they can simply never get it right the first time.

with online purchases, after payment, and the waiting game in agony, we would like to receive a piece of case that is promised by their product descriptions.

which seems not to be the case far too often with Seidio, and it's disappointing that they wish to rather charge us at higher rates to maintain their return shipping costs and to sustain their team of excellent CS.

when they should have gotten this right at this kind of cost for a plastic case.

just my 2 cents.

I guess ill have to send them a message by returning their product. What good is their customer service if they lose all their business due to defective products. Maybe then they'll realize that a proper product is more valuable than proper customer service. They lost my business, no matter how nice they are about it. When I spend $30 on any product I expect to work as advertised. Clearly this case belongs on a $3 ebay auction. Seidio can kiss my ass all they want but if what their selling is junk, they're wasting a whole lotta lipstick.

Received my burgundy case today. First the good news. Fits perfectly. Very classy. However, before ordering I spoke (actually "chatted") with customer service to be sure that the burgundy cases being shipped had (a) a manufactured rather than a dremeled hole in the rear case and (b) an embossed logo rather than the cheap white painted version. Yup. "You should receive the embossed logo..."

Well, no. White logo, dremeled hole, and a black smudge on the back case. As usual, courteous cusomer service and a new case on the way. We'll see how this goes.

BTW, I agree with earlier comments that Seidio would be well served by better quality control. I'm sure they're 12,000 miles from the manufacturer and this can be a dicey proposition especially with a brand new product and short deadlines. And perhaps the bean counters have determined that they're better off shipping (and replacing) defective products than fixing the problem upstream. Having done more than a few cost/benefit analyses in my time, however, I'm skeptical.

WOW... that's just ridiculous... I don't care how good their customer service there is just no excuse for QC that poor. Sure I realize these cases probably cost them all of $1 or so to make, but having to send so many customers so many replaces is just BAD for business... ESPECIALLY for a $30 case. Sell it for 1/2 that and then maybe these practices could be understandable, but as is there is no call for it for a product in this price range. I'm glad my case fit and was not damaged but unless they get there act together I will not be ordering future products or recommending them to others.

Hello All,

Thank you for your interest in our products. We sincerely apologize to those of you experiencing difficulties, and really appreciate your honest feedback.

Although we’ve shipped thousands of Droid cases without incident, there have been a few of you that have recently experienced some fit issues with the top of their case.

After a thorough investigating we've found that there are some tolerance differences between our model and other Droids in the market. We confirmed this at CES last week by testing our case on various customer devices. Unfortunately we've seen these large tolerance differences in Motorola devices before, (last with the Motorola Q). On a less precise case this wouldn't be an issue, but for ours it's obviously caused some fit problems. This applies to a very small portion of cases that we have shipped, and both quality and consistency have been unaffected.

Please understand that this is not a quality issue as we cannot foresee changes on Motorola's side. Every replacement we sent out went through a fit test with our own Droids, but because your devices were different the replacements weren't fitting either.

Please know that we are doing everything in our power to find a solution to the problem and fix it as quickly as possible.

For those of you who already have a case and are experiencing the aforementioned issue, we have a couple of options:

1. We can take your case back for a refund, and contact you once we have a replacement so you can re-order.
2. You can hold on to your existing case and we will send you a replacement once we've addressed the issue.

Please contact customer service at 832-204-1118 and we'll get you taken care of.

I honestly see less potiential for inconsistencies on the droid simple because the top of the phone is metal. The plastic innocase would appear to have a much greater potiential for inconsistencies. I need to see some facts before I can trust your investigations findings.

Thats not really necessary and i doubt they would release the "facts." An plus i can get why their off. The Droid innocase is only 1mm so if its off by just a little bit it wont work. there addressing the problem an working on it. most companies would leave u in the dust

Thank you for the attention and monitoring the post (I've seen you on here before and it is appreciated). Tolerance differences on the device are understandable and acceptable. It is the other issues, however, like the ones listed above that we are referring to with your QC. Inconsistencies in the manufacturing (poorly drilled holes, marks on the case(s), clips broken or not within design tolerances ect.) are not the fault of Motorola's shortfalls in their design and production of the device. These failures are the fault of poor QC from within Seidio and/or their production partner(s). I understand these are mass produced products and things happen but that is specifically the reason why their should be QC guidelines and procedures throughout the manufacturing, receiving and shipping (order fulfillment) processes.

I will point out, for the sake of newcomers to the post that, as reported by SeidioSeidio that it is very likely that these problems likely only "[apply] to a very small portion of cases that [they] have shipped." When anyone reads threads like this on any forum they should be aware that there is only a very small percentage of any given market that takes part in forums like this. So it's possible that these few complaints could inaccurately represent the % of 'faulty' cases being shipped. But then they could also understate the problem. So take everything with a fair amount of skepticism and weight things for yourself.

+1

agreed.

fortunately my case was part of the good batch. :icon_ banana:

Just got my case tonight and mine is the one with the Embossed Logo instead of the painted.

the case is pretty snug but I have the problem some people have reported. The Clip of the bottom piece on top of the volume control is not clipping completely so the case is loose. The other 3 clip anchors firmly. So just that one needs to be adjusted.

Is there a batch that doesn't have this problem? or do I have to just wait a while for a new design to come out?

I've had the same issue with all of my replacements.

>.< that sucks. Aside from that the case is GREAT!

Feels great in the the hand and looks amazing (<3 the dull metallic sheen).
