Seidio Case

$50 for the car mount?!?! absolutely ridiculous, regardless of the 10% off you can get. combine it with one of their cases and it's $80. Unreal.

Until somebody can find me another car dock that fits with a case the quality of Seidio's and looks to be as functional, the price is unavoidable.

This is the only dock I've seen with a built in charging port, where you can just get in your car, drop the phone in, and it's plugged in. It also has micro-usb output, which is really nice if you are on a road trip and other friends want to charge their phones. It also looks like it comes with a good bit of hardware. See below

Backorder

(1) CBP-MNUMUSBF 833 - Adaptor Cable
(1) CRCG17MTDD-BK 1303 - G1700S Car Kit
(1) MLP1-G25 228 - Locking Plate
(1) MWGB3 384 - Suction Cup Pedestal
(1) PMNHG 301 - Cigarette Lighter Charger

the point here is $50 for something to hold your phone in and charge it. the moto charger can be had for $8 shipped on the bay. $42 extra for a 3rd party charger that will dock your phone? still ridiculous

Yes, that's all it does is hold your phone and charge it. It slides freely about the car, has no external outputs, and leaves your screen in standard view mode.

Not every shopping decision on earth is price driven. It's the ease of use and clean install in the car that is the selling point. You dont have to worry about "get in, adjust off brand dock to fit case, find wire which is surely on the floor somewhere, plug it into the phone, go to apps, run car mode. Then you park the car, unplug, stow away the charger cable, exit car mode blah blah blah blah."

With this you get in your car, put it in; park the car, take it out. No worries, very easy. And for those of us who like to keep our cars clean, this can allow for a very nice install with few unsightly wires by wiring it out of the way. Not to mention it was designed to fit my case, and most likely will have pretty solid build quality.

I don't think anybody here is forcing you to buy it. I bought it, and I think many others will. Companies do have to make money, you just dont have to give it to them.

PS: hail to the redskins.

Moto's version is $30. A 3rd party developer shouldn't be charging an extra $20 for theirs. That's all I'm getting at.

PS: We need a QB and a new offensive line :/

Problem with the Moto is that it will not fit the Seidio case. So if you want the seidio case you'd either need the seidio dock or a clampy type dock.

Does anyone actually have the Seidio car dock yet and can provide pics or first hand testimony.

p.s. HTTR! And Portis gotta go.

Hey guys. Just wanted to give my opinion about the innocase and multimedia dock from seido. I love my case. Feels good, it makes the phone a bit more comfortable to hold and type with in landscape mode. My only negative feedback would be that I wish it was a little more rubbery, for grip purposes.

As far as the dock goes, its pretty ok. I say ok because I really liked the moto dock. My major gripe is how hard it is to insert or remove the phone from the dock. On the Motorola dock, there were no grips (claw like thingies) on the USB connector which made it slide in and out easy. The Seido dock has these claws, which really serve no purpose other than preventing the phone from sliding in and out smoothly.

Got home and opened my replacement case tonight. Didn't fit.

I think I'm just going to call Seidio tomorrow and request a refund after I ship these two cases back. :(

Ordered mine on 1/24, and the top cover still doesn't fit. Ordered a replacement, hopefully it work this time. :-(

Hello All,

The revised version of the case will be available in the next few weeks for shipping. If you have tried one, two, or three replacements and have no luck, I would recommend you to wait for the official word from us to request for your next replacement. We are going to let the forum members know as soon as we have more information. Again, this affects only a small portions of the Droids and we are confident that many more are happy Innocase owners!

Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns!

So back to the original question at hand. Is the Seidio car mount really worth it? I'm not THRILLED (but i don't hate it either) with my multimedia dock.

@seidioseidio: For future models of both docks, I would follow the Motorola Model and remove the claws designed to hold the USB connector in the phone out, so that the phone slides in and out easier.

Seidioseidio,

Perhaps I'll wait for that. Believe me, if it wasn't for your very good customer service and your presence here on the forums, I would have never even considering asking for a replacement, just a refund.

I'll call you guys today and figure out what to do with the two I have right now, and let them know I'd like to wait for the updated case.

Thanks for the suggestion. :)

hmmm.. So I was just about to order the case. I bought the Zagg Full body and hate how it builds up fibers of cloth and stuff around the edges of the sticky adhesive. Makes the phone look junky IMO. So I have a body Glove, and I really don't like the fact that its so bulky. So just before I ordered the case I checked here.

Are there problems with the case still? I see some say they fit perfect and some are having issues and returning them. Advice?
