Seidio Case

Got my case today and the front piece does not fit. They said some of the droids are different sizes but when I looked closer I saw the tabs on the bottom of the cover are not big enough to grip anything. The top ones are bigger and grip perfectly. I dont think its the phone its the tabs are not big enough. When they made them they smoothed them down too much. Even if I put the bottom tabs on first they do not grip good enough. So all this talk about the droids being different sizes I dont think to be the issue. If your cover does not fit take a look and let me know what you think.


I have found what you said to be accurate before they told me it was the different size protoypes they used.I am still waiting for my top cover.I just lost the cover on the one Verizon sells too!I am starting to wonder if any cover is practical on the top!

it's easier to pass blame than accept it... would have made better sense if seidio just admitted that sometimes their product is faulty and they're working to refine it, rather than blame motorola.

I spoke to Seidio today and was told that the revised top covers are on their way to them. Still no estimate of when they'll actually receive it, but I was told likely within the next week.
 
My Seidio experience

After looking at everything available back in December, I went with the Seidio system because I wanted to have the phone in a case and yet also be able to dock it.

I ordered both the regular and extended battery cases, and both have the problem where the front portion of the case does not stay on. Seidio has been very responsive to my questions, however, and have assured me that I will be sent a replacement when they are available.

After getting the extended battery, I liked it so much that I returned the standard case and I plan to use just the extended case most of the time. If I have to slim down the phone I will use a simple pouch to protect it.

I also ordered both the desk charger and the car dock. I received the desk dock and plug in charger and it would not charge the phone. It was also very difficult to get the phone in and out of it, BUT it works very well with the case and the extended battery, so I have asked for an exchange. Again, Seidio was very quick to reply to my issues, although I did have to pay the postage to return the dock.

I am hoping that the replacement desk dock will charge the phone as quickly as the charger and cord that came with the phone does. The car dock sounds solid as well, I hope I get it soon.

Right now, this product line seems like the only solution if you want to dock your Droid with a case and/or extended battery.

While there have been some growing pains with quality control, as long as Seidio keeps making good efforts to fix them I will have a little more patience. I did tell them that if the case fit issue is not resolved, then I may completely reconsider my decision to purchase both docks, as I did that so I can use their cases.

Psst, seidioseidio, you guys might want to ammend your customer services hours listed on your website.

Available Hours: Monday - Friday (excluding US holidays) from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Standard Time

I just called to inquire about the new case, and ask a question about shipping the other two back (still need to get on that... I haven't had time. :( ), and the automated response indicated you guys were only open until 4:00 central time daily. Gah! Just missed ya!

Yep....just received mine today and like others, the top part doesn't fit.:frown: A bit disappointed since it took so :censored: long to arrive. I'll call tomorrow when they open to request a replacement with one of the fixed ones.
 
Seidio has certainly had some issues with Droid cases. It took three cases to get mine right and others have had an even more frustrating time.

Having said that, and being a long-time customer, I have to say that Seidio does stick with it to satisfy their customers. They seem to be well on the road to dealing with the quality control issues they've experienced and it's a credit to them that they've continued to focus on their existing customers rather than moving on.

In my case, I wanted a burgundy case without the white painted Seidio logo. Otherwise, the first case fitted perfectly. So did the second, but again without the embossed logo I preferred. I imagine that many companies dealing with the fitment issues they were experiencing would have told me to go fly a kite for complaining about such a minor issue. They didn't. My third case fits and looks perfect.

All in all, I'd advise folks to stick with Seidio. The mark of a great company is not that they don't make mistakes; it's how they deal with the mistakes they make. And on that score Seidio is a great company.
 
Just spoke with a customer service rep online who said Seidio just got the replacement tops in today! She said they'd ship my replacement out first class.

And I sit here in my university's union, having just mailed my original and the top half of the replacement back out. I didn't have any tape handy, and the only tape the post office branch here had was for first class packages. So, I said "why not?", shipped my returns out first class, and returned the favor. :)

This replacement had better fit though... :P
 
They just called me, there sending a replacement blue and black top to me. I have both color cases, the blue fits fine, but i want the newest versions on the cases, whatever the difference may be

Not true. I had two droids (purchased at different times) and two cases. On one both top cases would go on perfectly, but on the other droid I tried and tried with both cases and never could get it to work. Bizarre.

I don't think either Seidio or Motorola are to "blame" or anything is faulty.

I spoke to Seidio about my top cover not fitting over a week ago. The girl who answered said she would put me on the list to send another. She obviously did not as of today.Make sure you get a name.This is not good to hear with all the complaints arising from numerous tries to replace bad tops.
I can only hope now my burgundy top fits and have no issues.
