Simplified ICS 6.16.217 Update Guide

when i do recovery from the menu it just brings up the duel core thing and then goes to a green droid with a spinning circle in the middle and just stays there

it got to the end of the bar and nothing happens

now it gives me a dead droid with a red triangle

and i think my phone is going to die soon. and i know if that happens im ****ed
 
ohh, finally left the room! she has been hanging over my shoulder reading stuff on my screen and showing me recipes from her new magazine she got today.... :) I noticed one thing, the instructions do not say anything about installing device drivers for windows, is that necessary? and which to do, or do I need the Android SDK? I hope to get it done tonight, as we are headed out of town tomorrow and when she complains about her phone working crappy I want to hand her the D4 and say "here try this one instead..."
 
Power down and do it again. I know I keep saying that, but the process usually takes a few tries. If it keeps saying it didnt mount after several tries then something may have gone wrong in the previous steps so you would have to start over. Usually when you reach the stage where you're at it should mount the external sd card.

ok i did it like 15 times and still nothing. is there anyway to access my phone storage? and wait does it have to be a external sd card?

this might explain everything.....
